There are reports and rumors that surround Britain’s royal family on a daily basis, but one that has really gained steam recently is the claim that Prince William’s wife, Kate Middleton, is pregnant with their fourth child.

A magazine has reported that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who are already parents to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, are expecting baby No. 4 in 2019. The reports have gained so much traction that in a rare move Kensington Palace responded, well sort of.

Here’s more on the claim that Middleton is pregnant and the indirect answer the palace offered about it.

The duchess just gave birth to her third child in April but a report by Star Magazine claims that she and William are not done having children yet.

According to the tabloid, sources have claimed that “a baby girl is on the way for the radiant royal couple.”

Over the years many have believed that four kids was certainly a possibility for William and Middleton since that’s the same number of children his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, had. But after Middleton experienced extreme morning sickness during her pregnancies some figured she would stop at three.

“I can’t imagine Kate will want any more given the ordeal that she goes through every pregnancy. I should think that three children is enough,” said Old Boot pub, landlord John Haley, who attended the duke and duchess’ 2011 wedding.

As it stands now, Prince George is third in the line of succession to the throne. Princess Charlotte is fourth followed by her little brother, Louis, who is fifth. Another baby for the prince and Middleton would then become sixth and push Prince Harry down to seventh.

Following so much pregnancy chatter and speculation, Kensington Palace addressed the claim.

The Express noted that while the palace would not directly confirm or deny the reports, it did say that if the duchess were pregnant an official statement would be released.

Still, bets are being made on the chances that the prince and Middleton are expecting their fourth little one. In November 2018, Bookies Coral put the odds that Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis will have another sibling in 2019 at 3/1 and the odds that will occur further in the future at 6/4.

“Our odds show that there’s every chance that Kate and Wills might add to their growing family, and a fourth baby is certainly a possibility,” said Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead. “We’ve taken some bets over the last two weeks or so on it happening and there’s a real buzz around the Royal family at the moment with Meghan expecting.”

In late December 2018, Ladbrokes also put its odds at 3/1 that the pair will have another royal baby.

“It’s looking increasingly likely Wills and Kate will welcome another family member in the near future,” Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Apati said.
