Is Kourtney Kardashian’s Departure From ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ Permanent?

Keeping Up With The Kardashians is one of the longest-running reality shows on TV. It’s been on the air for a whopping 17 seasons, so it’s really no surprise that they may need a break sometimes.

Kourtney Kardashian has decided to take that break and leave the show. Here are the details of her recent announcement and what you can expect for the future of the show.

Kardashian would rather focus on being a mom than a reality star. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she revealed that we’ll be seeing less of her on Keeping Up With The Kardashians during upcoming seasons.

“I just decided to spend more time as a mom and put more of my energy there,” Kardashian said. “But I’m not saying goodbye.”

Fans shouldn’t be too worried. Kourtney will still appear on the show every once in a while, but she won’t be the main character any longer — at least for now. During the same interview, Kardashian’s sisters reassured us that Kourtney will always be welcome on the show.

“We feel like it’s a revolving door,” Khloe Kardashian said, “So Kourtney might leave this week, she’ll be back.”

We suppose the decision will be up to Kardashian, but it’s nice to know she always has the option to return. Even without Kardashian, we still have plenty of characters to follow on the show.

With a new baby in Kim Kardashian’s family and Kylie Jenner’s recent breakup with Travis Scott, there will still be plenty of drama for the camera crews to follow. Fans will miss Kourtney, but the Kardashians are a busy group, and viewers will be kept entertained. Keeping Up With The Kardashians will survive.

It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that Kourtney is leaving the show. She’s mentioned, in the past, that being a reality star isn’t something she needs. During one episode, she even said she’d be “happy” if Keeping Up With The Kardashians ended.

“Yeah, who cares [if the show ended],” she said to her sister, Khloe.

Kourtney previously revealed that she sometimes thinks about leaving the show. During an interview with The Real, she was asked the possibility of leaving.

“So, every day is different,” she answered. Kourtney confirmed that she has thought about leaving because “life is short,” but at that time, she was comfortable staying a little longer. We guess now, things have changed.

While the show has definitely helped Kourtney rise to fame, it was never really her idea. Instead, Keeping Up With the Kardashians was developed by her mom: Kris Jenner.

And while Kourtney may have enjoyed the fame to some extent, it was always her sister, Kim Kardashian, that really chased stardom. Kourtney has just been along for the ride.

The producer of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Ryan Seacrest hasn’t responded to the recent news of Kardashian leaving the show. However, when rumors hit the news last summer that she was considering taking a break, he was quick to share his support.

“They lived for over a decade with cameras following [them],” Seacrest told Entertainment Tonight back in June. I could not do it, no matter what they were paying them. I could not do it, so I give them a lot of credit for having those cameras in their lives all the time. And I love you, Kourtney. Love her.”

It’s good to know that Seacrest has her back and that Kourtney will always be welcome to return if she chooses. Viewers will definitely miss her, but Kourtney has to do what’s right for her and her children.
