Is Lamar Odom Still In Contact With Khloe Kardashian Today?
It’s been three years since Khloe Kardashian officially divorced Lamar Odom and the NBA player still regrets losing her.
In his memoir “Darkness into Light,” Lamar Odom opens up about his past struggles with drugs and his sex addiction.
He also discusses his regret of pushing away the one person who really cared for him, Khloe Kardashian.
Now, he wants everyone to know how much he still loves his ex-wife and how he hopes to reconnect with Kardashian one day in the near future.
Lamar’s drug use cost him his marriage
After dating for only a month, Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian fell head over heels in love with each other a lot quicker than most people.
They hit it off instantly and took their relationship to the next level by tying the knot in a private Beverly Hills estate wedding in September 2009.
“When I look at Khloe, it’s like seeing my mother in her eyes,” Odom said. “I think that was why I was able to marry her.”
Odom and Kardashian lived in complete marital bliss for the next five years and even showcased their love on their own Keeping Up With The Kardashians spinoff Khloe and Lamar.
But behind closed doors, Lamar Odom was battling his own demons that lead his and Khloe’s marriage down a dark path.
In his memoir “Darkness into Light,” Odom details his years of drug abuse, particularly with cocaine, and how his addiction made him lash out at Khloe while in a drug-induced rage.
That being the final straw for Kardashian, she eventually filed for divorce in 2014.
Khloe supported Lamar beyond their divorce
Khloe Kardashian had every intention of moving on from Odom, but it wasn’t until his near fatal drug overdose that she held off on the divorce.
In 2016, Lamar Odom was taken to the hospital after he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel.
The NBA player was put into a coma for four days, fighting for his life.
Earlier this month, Khloe Kardashian revealed that her divorce from Odom was put on hold due to his overdose.
“He OD’ed during the divorce and I was his next of kin, even though it was still, the divorce was still—it was on the judge’s desk,” Khloe shared during her interview with Laura Wesser for her podcast Divorce Sucks. “It was like two years, or like a year or two of us trying to get the divorce going and then this happened.”
With Lamar being in the state he was in, Khloe made the decision to be by his side rather than continue with the divorce.
“And then we paused the divorce, not for any romantic reasons but I wanted to be able to help take care of him and make sure that he would be okay again,” she admitted.
Lamar regrets losing his “queen”
Now that Lamar Odom is opening up about his dark past, the one thing he hopes will happen in the future is to be able to reconnect with Khloe Kardashian.
Lamar understands how much he’s hurt Khloe and the Kardashian family and wants them to know how sorry he is for his past actions.
“I wish I could have been more of a man. It still bothers me to this day. But regret is something we have to learn to live with,” he shared in his book. “Her love for me must have been unconditional. That’s the only thing [I think] that gave her the strength to still love me at that time.”
Even though both of them have moved on with their lives, Kardashian and Odom admitted that they still contact each other every now and again.
“Every now and then. There are no issues. There’s no bad blood. There’s no anything,” Khloe revealed on Divorce Sucks!
Lamar Odom is grateful for the time he’s had with Khloe Kardashian and even though they are no longer together, he will always have a deep love for her.
