Is Meghan Markle’s Due Date Later Than Expected?
Those who are on royal baby watch, anticipating the arrival of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new addition, have been pretty unsure when exactly Baby Sussex will make his or her entrance into the world. When is Meghan Markle’s due date and is it later than many anticipated?
Rumors about Meghan Markle’s due date
When the official announcement for Meghan Markle’s pregnancy was made by Kensington Palace, the due date was vaguely identified as “spring.” Since spring spans from early March through the end of May, there’s quite a range of possibilities for when Baby Sussex will be born.
Fans of the royals who have been looking for clues about a more specific timeline have uncovered a few hints that have been dropped along the way that might clear up the due date mystery.
Clues about when Baby Sussex will be born
Meghan reportedly revealed that she and Harry were expecting the baby to arrive in late April during their visit in Birkenhead, England earlier this year.
The most significant clue dropped about Meghan Markle’s due date, however, came from her friend George Clooney, who recently defended her in an interview. He mentioned she was “seven months pregnant.”
At the time, Clooney noted: “They’re just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere everywhere, she’s been pursued and vilified.” He added, “She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was and it’s history repeating itself. We’ve seen how that ends.”
Clooney further explained how Markle’s family matters have become public, sharing: “I can’t tell you how frustrating that is, just seeing them broadcast a letter from a daughter to a father, she’s getting a raw deal there and I think it’s irresponsible and I’m surprised by that.”
Could Meghan Markle’s due date be early May?
Cosmopolitan attempted to crunch the numbers based on these clues and see if they could determine an exact due date. With some calculations, they believe that Meghan Markle’s due date is May 10.
Of course, there are no guarantees that that’s the exact due date and, even if it is, babies can arrive earlier or later than the estimated date they are due. It will be interesting to see which month Baby Sussex will be born.
Baby Sussex’s gender will be a ‘surprise’
In addition to all the chatter about Markle’s due date are those who are dying to know if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are having a girl or a boy. Markle has remarked in the past that this will remain a “secret.”
Markle told a guest at the Endeavor Fund Awards who asked if they were expecting a boy or a girl: “We don’t know. Yes, we decided to keep it a secret.”
Markle further explained the couple’s reasoning for not sharing the information: “That way we’ll have something… And it’s one of those things, like, no matter what it is, it’s still going to be a surprise.”
