There was plenty of chatter over Meghan Markle’s lavish but intimate baby shower in New York City this week, but will the Duchess of Sussex have another baby shower in England? Find out what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have planned next.
Meghan Markle’s U.S. baby shower details revealed
While Markle’s pals were said to have paid for her extravagant baby shower held at NYC’s The Mark Hotel on the Upper East Side, this was not your typical shower. Vanity Fair reports that the baby shower cost $200,000

Markle’s guests arranged flowers
While it’s unclear if Markle’s guests played the typical baby shower games, they did have some fun arranging the flowers that were spotted being delivered to The Mark Hotel.
One of the guests, Gayle King, shared the details of the activity, telling CBS This Morning: “She’s a very private person. I think she should decide what she wants to say about this.” King added: “I hope she won’t mind me sharing this because I’ve never seen anything like this at a baby shower. They had flower arranging. They brought in somebody to explain how to arrange flowers. We all each made an individual vase.”
Her guests’ flower arrangements were for a special reason
The floral arrangements had a specific purpose, as they were donated to Repeat Roses, an organization that gives flowers from events to various organizations, such as hospices, treatment centers, and homeless shelters.
King noted: “I thought that was a very sweet thing. I mean, it just speaks to who [Meghan] is. She’s very kind. She’s very generous, and a really, really sweet person.”
Repeat Roses tweeted: Thank you @voguemagazine @GayleKing We were so honored to be part of this special experience and share the love with those in the community who will benefit most!”
King also shared the reason Markle didn’t open the gifts she received at the party, noting: “She didn’t open any of the gifts because she wants to do that when she goes — when she and Harry are back together.”
The morning co-host further remarked that, despite the fanfare of Markle’s shower, “It was a very, very small, private affair, and just a very special time for her. Because having a baby is a great thing. Let’s not lose sight of that.”
A smaller baby shower being planned in the UK
Many fans wondered if Markle would have another shower in Britain as well and it’s been reported that she will, in fact, have a second party to celebrate before the arrival of Baby Sussex.
Royal contributor for Good Morning America, Omid Scobie, tweeted: “Today’s baby shower is the first of two, sources tell me. Around 20 of Meghan’s loved ones — incl Misha Nonoo, Jessica Mulroney and Abigail Spencer — will join her in NYC later this afternoon, with a smaller gathering scheduled for pals on this side of the pond after Morocco.”
