Revealed: Is Meghan Markle Planning To Sue Her Father?

This is supposed to be the happiest time in Meghan Markle’s life, and in many ways it is. The Duchess of Sussex is madly in love with her husband, Prince Harry, she’s about to welcome her first child into the world in late April or early May, and she has the love and support from her mother, Doria Ragland, in-laws, and her closest friends. Unfortunately, Markle’s life isn’t exactly a fairytale. The former actress is currently at war with her father, Thomas Markle, Sr. and half-sister, Samantha Grant.

Ever since she and Prince Harry went public with their relationship –Markle’s paternal family has done everything in their power to make her life miserable. Her father and sister have given various salacious interviews about her. Recently, Thomas Markle published a heartfelt, handwritten letter the duchess wrote him in Aug. 2018 –begging him to stop speaking to the press about her. Is the duchess planning to sue her father over the letter?

Thomas Markle is at it again! But this time he's shot himself in the foot by releasing a letter that Duchess Meghan sent to him…by doing this he has given her a way to have her say publicly, although I doubt that was his intention. Just another way to make money off his daughter. Published parts of the letter read: "Daddy, It is with a heavy heart that I write this, not understanding why you have chosen to take this path, turning a blind eye to the pain you're causing,” the letter reads. "Your actions have broken my heart into a million pieces—not simply because you have manufactured such unnecessary and unwarranted pain, but by making the choice to not tell the truth as you are puppeteered in this. Something I will never understand." “You’ve told the press that you called me to say you weren’t coming to the wedding – that didn’t happen because you never called.” “You’ve said I never helped you financially and you’ve never asked me for help which is also untrue,” the note reads. “You sent me an email last October that said: ‘If I’ve depended too much on you for financial help then I’m sorry but please if you could help me more not as a bargaining chip for my loyalty.” “If you love me, as you tell the press you do, please stop. Please allow us to live our lives in peace. Please stop lying, please stop creating so much pain, please stop exploiting my relationship with my husband. You haven’t reached out to me since the week of our wedding,” the letter continues. “And while you claim to have no way of contacting me, my phone number has remained the same. This you know. No texts, no missed calls, no outreach from you – just more global interviews you’re being paid to do to say harmful and hurtful things that are untrue.” **comments are off due to unprecedented hate** . #thomasmarkle #meghanmarkle #duchessofsussex #royalfamily #royalwedding #Princeharry #DukeOfSussex #queenelizabethii #kensingtonpalace #princephillip #PrinceWilliam #duchesscatherine #britishroyalty #royals #thewindsors #thesussex #royalbaby #royalinterviews #frogmorehouse #meghanandharry #harryandmeghan #harry #meghan #letterfrommeghan #letter #daddy #exploitation #badbehavior #harmful #lies

Will Meghan Markle sue her father for releasing the private letter she sent to him?

In Aug. 2018, Markle wrote a handwritten 5-page letter to her father to discuss her feelings and their strained relationship. Thomas Markle recently sold parts of that letter to Mail on Sunday. In the letter — the duchess says, “If you love me . . . please stop lying . . . please stop exploiting my relationship with my husband. Your actions have broken my heart into a million pieces—not simply because you have manufactured such unnecessary and unwarranted pain, but by making the choice to not tell the truth as you are puppeteered in this. Something I will never understand.”

Now the Duchess of Sussex and the British Royal Family are trying to decide what to do next, and it appears that the duchess is ready to sue. Though Markle won’t be taking her father to court directly, she might sue The Mail on Sunday for publishing excerpts of the letter.

Why is Meghan Markle planning to sue?

Since becoming romantic with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle has been forced to endure backlash, bullying, and lies against her. Her father and siblings have only added to the media circus around her. Suing The Mail on Sunday under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act for publishing the letter that she wrote to her father might deter other publications from doing similar things in the future. Lawyers of the former actress have already been in touch with the tabloid over potential legal action.

Will Meghan Markle ever speak to her father again?

Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland divorced Thomas Markle when the duchess was just two years old. Though Markle has had a relationship with her father in the past –it has been increasingly strained especially when he bailed on her 2018 wedding at the last minute. In an interview with People, the duchess closest friends explained that Thomas Markle is lying about being unable to reach his daughter. They said, “He knows how to get in touch with her. He’s never called; he’s never texted. It’s super-painful.”

Now, that Thomas Markle has released her private words the duchess is “at her wit’s end.” A royal source told Vanity Fair, “She cares for her dad, and has concerns for him and his mental health, which is one of the reasons she doesn’t want to comment on this. It’s a very complex, very emotional situation, and let’s not forget she is seven months pregnant.” At this point it doesn’t look like Markle has any plans on speaking to her father in the near future.
