The first episode of NCIS: New Orleans wasn’t an easy one for Dwayne Pride, played by former Quantum Leap star Scott Bakula. Pride’s case becomes personal after one of his former mentees, Petty Officer Calvin Parks, turns up dead. Petty Officer Parks is a former gang member whose murder is a mystery until clues begin to come to light. This episode turned into a crossover between NCIS and NCIS: New Orleans when Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard joins the team to help solve Calvin’s murder.

It’s not easy to copy the scenes you see in NCIS: New Orleans, so the show is filmed on location around New Orleans. The sound stage is located in Harahan, which is part of Jefferson Parish, according to CBS. NCIS: Los Angeles, as you’ve probably guessed is filmed on the Paramount Studios lot in Los Angeles. NCIS films in Southern California.

NCIS: New Orleans star Scott Bakula tries to stay under the radar

During an interview with CBS This Morning, Bakula said he prefers to maintain his privacy. Consequently, he’s not one to hold media interviews in his home. “For a hundred million years People magazine wanted to do interviews with me at my home. I said, ‘I can’t.’ Where do you stop?”

Bakula, who grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, first became interested in acting while performing in plays and musicals at his church. He was so consumed with a desire to become a performer that he dropped out of college and headed to New York in hopes of becoming a Broadway actor.

A lot has been happening on NCIS and its spin-off show NCIS: Los Angeles. Fans are still reeling from the brief return of Ziva David, a character most thought was dead. Viewers are trying to figure out if this was a one-time occurrence or if she will be returning to the series full-time. Another exciting event was the marriage of NCIS: Los Angeles characters Kensi and Deeks (affectionately known as “Densi”). Their wedding was full of excitement because a character who has been missing from the show for most of season 10, Hetty, made a grand entrance at the wedding. Right now, it’s unclear if Hetty will come back or only make special guest appearances.
