Thanks to Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and the birth of their son, Archie, the royal family has been in the media spotlight more than ever before. And it’s not just the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who are getting attention, either. While Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew were once one of the most talked-about royal couples around, it’s now their daughters who fans have their eyes on.
Princess Eugenie is married to Jack Brooksbank, of course, but it seems Princess Beatrice might not be far behind. She’s been seeing her boyfriend for a few months, and their relationship appears to be heating up. And now, reports claim Princess Beatrice is completely transforming her diet — but why?
Princess Beatrice is getting super serious with her boyfriend
While royal fans may remember when Princess Beatrice seemed to be hinting at engagement with her ex-boyfriend, she’s completely moved on since the breakup. Town & Country notes she’s been seeing multi-millionaire Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi for months, and their families have actually known each other for years. The 34-year-old Mozzi is also the co-founder of a charity and has a toddler-aged son of his own from a previous relationship.
Royal fans can’t wait to hear where Mozzi and Princess Beatrice’s relationship is headed, too. According to The Sun, friends of the couple expect an engagement could occur at any time. “They hit it off instantly and have a real laugh together. … Things are moving very quickly and it wouldn’t surprise anyone if they got engaged within a short period of time,” a friend told the publication. “They could even be tying the knot in 2019 — it’s already been discussed by her friends.”
She reportedly changed her diet completely
It seems Princess Beatrice has been making some additional changes to her life since Mozzi has come into the picture, too. Hello! reports the princess is now adhering to a vegan diet. And she’s even preparing her 31st birthday celebration in August to include all plant-based menu options and a dairy-free cake.
While not many of the royals avoid meat products, it seems Princess Beatrice is in good company with Meghan Markle. Markle has spoken in the past about how she likes to eat vegan during the week and remain a bit more flexible on the weekends. “Because I work out the way I do, I don’t ever want to feel deprived. I feel that the second you do that is when you start to binge on things. It’s not a diet; it’s lifestyle eating,” the publication reports she told Best Health. And we wouldn’t be surprised if she provides vegan options for her son, too.
Could it be because engagement is coming?
So, is Princess Beatrice hoping to eat more plant-based foods for her health, or could she have an ulterior motive? Express notes some may believe that she’s actually hoping to look better than ever for an upcoming engagement and wedding to Mozzi. There seems to be no actual evidence of this, however — so perhaps Princess Beatrice simply wants to help the environment and eat more plant-based for her own wellbeing.
We wouldn’t be surprised if Princess Beatrice does announce an engagement at some point in 2019, however. As Alex Apati from British-based betting company Ladbrokes told Hello!, “There’s been plenty of interest in this over the last few days and with the two seemingly smitten, we’re banking on an announcement being made before the year is out – so strap yourself in for a 2020 royal wedding.”
The publication also notes that Mozzi seems to have a great relationship with Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, too. Since the princesses have an ultra-close friendship, this is certainly an important factor in who Princess Beatrice will wed.
As for Princess Beatrice’s new diet, we’ll have to see if she sticks it out and if there’s any correlation between her sudden interest in veganism and an upcoming wedding.
