Is Rashida Jones Married? Find Out Who Her Spouse Is

Rashida Jones is best known for her portrayal of Ann Perkins — a dry-witted nurse who is best friends with main character Leslie Knope — on the show Parks and Recreation. While the show has been off the air for several years now, it continues to enjoy a loyal fanbase. Jones has leveraged her success from Parks and Recreation into several other projects.

Interest in Jones’ professional body of work may lead fans wondering about her personal life: Is she single or in a relationship?

Jones is among the Parks and Recreation alums with the highest net worth. This is partially due to her family connections.

Jones is the daughter of two famous people. Her mother was Peggy Lipton, an actress whose famous credits include a role on The Mod Squad. Her father is legendary musician Quincy Jones.

Lipton and Quincy Jones were married from 1974 to 1990 and had two daughters together: Rashida and Kidada. Lipton left acting to care for the pair when they were young but returned to the screen later in life.

Jones has spoken warmly of her relationship with her parents saying that she never felt the need to rebel against them because they were so “cool” and that they have always been her friends.

Rashida Jones has many talents and ambitious goals

Jones attended Harvard University where she studied religion, philosophy, and acting. She started her acting career with small parts and guest appearances on TV shows like The Office

Parks and Recreation was a breakout role for her, and since the show’s conclusion, she has gone on to work on many recurring projects. Most notably, she starred in the television series Angie Tribeca, a police procedural show that adds comedy to the typical dramatic portrayal.

Acting is not her only skill, however. Jones also has credits as both a writer and a producer. She was a writer on the famed “Nosedive” episode of the television show Black Mirror and wrote and produced a documentary series called Hot Girls Wanted: Turned On. The documentary takes a close look at the exploitation of young girls for pornography.

Her upcoming projects include voice work for a recurring character on the animated TV series Duncanville. This role reconnects her with Parks and Recreation co-star Amy Poehler, who is a creator for the new series.

Rashida Jones is very private about her family life

While Jones is often in the public eye through her many projects, she is very secretive about her private life. While the two have never officially confirmed their relationship, she is often spotted at events with Ezra Koenig, who is best known for his singing and songwriting with the group Vampire Weekend.

While keeping a relationship a secret is one thing, the couple seems to be fully committed to their privacy. In 2018, the pair became parents to their first child, but the news came as a shock to fans and the media alike.

Though Jones had been publicly out and about during her pregnancy, there was no announcement about the impending addition to the family or about the actual birth of their child. Perhaps predictably, then, they did not make an announcement about the baby’s name. PEOPLE confirmed the birth of a son named Isaiah through the birth certificate records.

While Jones is famously quiet about her personal life, she has opened up about the pressures she feels are unfairly put on people to publicly perform their most intimate relationships. Back in 2014, Jones explained that the pressure to get married and have kids was ingrained in her.

“I’m happy, but the fact that I’m not married and don’t have kids — it’s taken me a long time to get to a place where I actually am OK with that, where I actually don’t feel like I’m some sort of loser,” she said.

While it seems that Jones has found a way to create a family that works for her, it’s clear that her personal life and her professional life are separate worlds.
