Is Ryan Seacrest The Next Contestant on ABC’s ‘The Bachelor’?

Ryan Seacrest has become known as a jack-of-all-trades in Hollywood, a host and reporter extraordinaire. From his career beginnings as a radio host to the brainchild behind television shows like American Idol and Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Seacrest has had a hand in many of the pop culture phenomenons that have shaped the past decade. He’s also nowhere near finished with everything that he plans to do.

Recently, Seacrest opened up about whether or not he would be interested in the idea of participating in another one of America’s hottest reality shows.

A whole generation of people has grown up knowing Ryan Seacrest’s name, if not exactly how he got his start in the entertainment business. Seacrest started as a radio DJ in the mid-90s, spinning popular tunes on afternoon radio. In 2004, he took over the radio program “American Top 40” from iconic radio personality Casey Kasem, and his career really took off.

In 2002, Seacrest had begun hosting a small show called American Idol, a singing competition show that was unlike anything viewers had yet seen. Seacrest has turned his stint with Idol into a huge part of his career, and as the only cast member who has been with the show since the very beginning, many people see him as synonymous with the show.

As his star rose, Seacrest began hosting a wide variety of other shows and even started his own production company, “Ryan Seacrest Productions.” His company is responsible for shows like Keeping Up with the Kardashians

Who has Seacrest dated?

As a popular television and radio personality, Seacrest has himself achieved celebrity status. His dating life has been the subject of intense public scrutiny, and his girlfriends over the years have included some pretty well-known names.

In the past, he dated Terri Hatcher and Playboy Playmate Sara Jean Underwood. He had a high-profile relationship with dancer and actress Julianne Hough for several years, but the two broke up after a little more than two years.

Most recently, Seacrest dated model and chef Shayna Taylor. Taylor and Seacrest dated for three years and even lived together. Still, their love didn’t last and they broke up in February 2019.

Rumors suggested that the reason for their breakup was that Seacrest couldn’t commit to marriage and Taylor was tired of waiting around.

Seacrest is open to being the next ‘Bachelor’

At 44 years old, Seacrest has never been married and seems like a confirmed bachelor. It is his single status that might make him the perfect candidate for the hit TV show The Bachelor.

Recently, Seacrest was asked whether or not he would ever consider being on the show. While his initial response was “I don’t think so,” when pressed, Seacrest admitted that “you never know.”

Seacrest also said that his parents watch the show, possibly giving him extra incentive to take part in the reality show.

The premise of the show certainly seems like a good fit for Seacrest, who is well known for appreciating beautiful women. As the Bachelor, Seacrest would find himself courted by dozens of eligible ladies, all intent on making him their plus-one for life.

If ABC does come knocking on Seacrest’s door, that announcement isn’t likely to happen for several more months. There are also many other names being tossed around for the 24th season of the show, including The Bachelorette‘s Tyler Cameron.

However, there is the problem of Seacrest’s incredibly busy schedule — with multiple jobs and a roster of events to attend, he might not be able to find the time to film a weekly show.
