Is The Rest of the Royal Family Excited About Baby Sussex?

Where oh where is baby Sussex? If it feels like we have been waiting forever for the newest royal to arrive, it’s because we have.

Meghan Markle’s pregnancy was announced in October of last year, just a few months after she and Prince Harry were married.

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” Kensington Palace said in a statement at the time. “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”

It seems like since then the whole world has been waiting in anticipation for baby Sussex to make his or her debut. People have been sending Prince Harry and Meghan Markle baby gifts and donating to charities in the baby’s honor and the kid isn’t even here yet.

The public is certainly excited. But is the royal family as happy about the new baby as the rest of us?

How does Kate Middleton feel about baby Sussex?

There have been rumors that there is a rift between Markle and her royal sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. With stories of such bad blood flowing between the two, it’s only natural to wonder whether Middleton is actually happy for her sister-in-law.

In November, after the pregnancy was announced, Middleton was eager to show her support. When asked by the crowd at The University of Leicester if she was excited about the baby, she said “absolutely.”

“It’s such a special time to have little kiddies,” she said, according to Hello Magazine. “And now a cousin for George, Charlotte, and Louis as well! It’s really, really special.”

How do Prince Charles and Camilla feel about baby Sussex?

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, are no strangers to having grandchildren. Prince William and Middleton have already had three children, so this isn’t the family’s first rodeo.

Though it’s not a novelty for the couple, they are excited for the birth of baby Sussex.

On a visit to Royal Lochnagar Distillery in Aberdeenshire, Charles was asked if he had toasted to the new baby yet.

“Oh yes, absolutely,” he said. “Several times, thank you.”

Not only did the Prince toast to the birth of his new grandchild, he also sent thank you notes to people who wished him and his family well.

“His Royal Highness is grateful to you for taking the trouble to write as you did, he was touched by your kind words of support and has asked me to send you his warmest thanks and very best wishes,” the note, written by the Prince’s correspondence team, read.

So it seems like the royal family is just as excited as we are about the coming of this new little bundle of joy. We just wish he or she would hurry up already!
