Tonight on ‘This Is Us,’ Kevin’s fate will be revealed

The last time we saw Kevin (Justin Hartley) on This Is Us; he left to film a movie in Vancouver, Canada. However, his fiance, Madison (Caitlin Thompson), was about nine weeks away from her due date with their twins. Kevin would quarantine for two weeks when he arrived, film for two weeks, and then head back home. The plan that the couple arranged would still have him back five weeks before the babies were due.

While the last episode of This Is Us, on Jan. 12, did not visit Kevin and Madison’s storyline, it did give us a preview of what’s to come. While viewers listened to a few broken conversations, they watched the scene of a car smashed into a tree. Then the camera cut to Kevin’s driver’s license and wallet lying in the grass near the vehicle’s wreckage.

From the conversations, fans gathered that Madison went into labor early, and Kevin was rushing to get to her. However, it looked like something happened on his way there. This Is Us returns on Feb. 9, 2021, and will bring answers to all of the fan questions over Kevin’s fate.

‘This Is Us’ is on tonight but won’t feature Randall Pearson

We are at the point where This Is Us gives viewers episodes about only one member of the Pearson family. First, the writers focused on Randall’s storyline about his birth mother. Tonight’s episode of This Is Us will concentrate solely on Kevin and Madison.

On Jan. 12, viewers found out, along with Randall, that his birth mother, Laurel (Jennifer C. Holmes), did not die from a drug overdose. She woke up in the hospital, but instead of finding her son, she spent five years in prison. When she was released, she returned to her home in New Orleans, feeling too late to be a mother.

After Hai Lang (Vien Hong) finished telling Randall Laurel’s story, he also gave him the keys to Laurel’s home.

“We own a farmhouse by a lake in New Orleans, where my dead biological mother grew up and fell in love with her Vietnamese boyfriend,” Randall later told Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson).

The story was complete, and viewers can see that a new Randall might emerge from all of this.

Kate Pearson’s story is yet to come

While This Is Us viewers did get a lot more backstory on Kate (Chrissy Metz) this season, we know the writers’ pattern. Typically each sibling receives a full episode centered around their life. When we last left off with Kate, she told off her horrible teenage ex-boyfriend and finally felt closure. Toby (Chris Sullivan) was supportive throughout the entire experience.

We haven’t heard about Kate and Toby’s adoption in a little while. There is also the emotional weight-gain issue that Kate might deal with at some point. So hopefully, This Is Us will return to weekly episodes and give viewers a Kate-centric episode soon.

In the meantime, enjoy the Kevin-centered episode on This Is Us tonight.
