Is Vicki Gunvalson from ‘RHOC’ Finally Engaged?
For the last few years, Vicki Gunvalson from The Real Housewives of Orange County has been hoping to have her love tank (re)filled. She finally found love with boyfriend Steve Lodge but the ring had yet to materialize.
On a number of occassions, Gunvalson joked with Lodge on the show about getting engaged. He often managed to artfully dodge her questions, which made viewers wonder if this relationship was built to last.
But now she and Lodge have answered the big question about whether or not the couple would be heading down the aisle. Gunvalson posted a lovely picture with Lodge, donning a gorgeous ring. “I said “YES.” Let the wedding planning begin!
Lodge wanted a private moment
Although Lodge seems at ease in front of the cameras, he often ducked out whenever the question of marriage came up on the show. So proposing off camera was probably the best time for Lodge to pop the question.
An “insider” told Page Six the proposal won’t be shown on RHOC. “He really wanted to do it privately. He wanted to do it because the two of them are in love and wanted it to be a private, special moment.”
Lodge also made it a family affair. Gunvalson’s Instagram story shows her grandsons frolicking in her pool so her daughter Brianna and husband Ryan are probably in town too. The insider added that Lodge made a night of it. He cooked dinner for the family and then proposed to Gunvalson.
A proposal in the making
Viewers could definitely count on two hands the number of times Gunvalson dropped hints about getting engaged on the show. Plus, she seemed to drop hints on social media too.
“I am so ready for marriage, I’m a marriage girl,” Vicki told US Weekly in 2017. “I told him from the very beginning, if you don’t want to get married, then don’t waste your time with me because I love being married, there’s no ring on right now, but we’re taking it slow and have a great relationship, that’s the most important thing for me, is making sure it’s a solid relationship.”
After three years together, Lodge had plenty of time to determine if Gunvalson was the woman for him. Clearly, she was and the insider told Page Six he had been planning to propose for quite some time.
Congratulations pour in
Gunvalson’s post was still fresh as the congratulatory messages poured in. “And the OG of the OC lived happily ever after…..,” Bravo producer Andy Cohen wrote. Co-stars, Emily Simpson, and former RHOC alum Lizzie Rovsek offered their well wishes too. “Vicki!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!! So exciting!!! So happy for you!!!”
Fans demanded a spin-off so everyone could be part of the big wedding. A number of Bravo wedding spin-offs have been popular. This includes Tamra and Eddie Judge’s nuptials from RHOC.
But for now, Gunvalson seems content to enjoy her new blingy bobble and watch her adorable grandsons poolside. Immediately after posting her engagement photo, she uploaded a video of the boys swimming in her lavish pool.
