It’s a Boy! Amy Duggar King Gives Birth, and Members of the Duggar Family Couldn’t Be More Excited

Congratulations are in order! Amy Duggar King gave birth to her first child, a boy named Daxton Ryan King, on Wednesday, October 9, People reported. The 32-year-old has been married to Dillon King since 2015. She is the niece of Counting On’s Jim Bob Duggar and first cousin to his and Michelle Duggar’s 19 kids.

“He’s absolute perfection!!!” the happy mama wrote on Instagram. The newest member of the Duggar family was born via C-section. He weighed 7 lbs., 8 oz. and measured 20 inches.

“Smooth and easy delivery,” the couple’s photographer Loren Bullard told the magazine. “Both mom and baby are great and healthy!”

After Amy announced her happy news on Instagram, congratulations from her many family members began to roll in.

“Aww! Love this! Congrats guys!!,” wrote Jill Duggar.

“Congratulations!!!!! Such a beautiful little family!” Josiah and Lauren Duggar commented via their shared Instagram account. The couple are expecting their first baby in November.

“Congratulations!!! Such a beautiful family!” gushed Josh Duggar’s wife Anna Duggar, who is expecting her sixth child later this year.

Jinger Duggar’s husband Jeremy Vuolo shared his congratulations on his Instagram Stories.

Amy says she always wanted to be a ‘boy mom’

The Kings announced they were expecting in April, and in June they revealed that they were having a boy.

“I’ve always wanted to be a boy mom! Dillon builds lifted trucks, so I can just imagine how suped-up the Power Wheels will be,” she told People at the time. “We just can’t wait for this little ball of energy to arrive! He’s already named, so let all the embroidery begin. I am so obsessed with baby bath robes!”

Does Amy get along with the other Duggars?

While Amy isn’t one of Jim Bob and Michelle’s kids, she’s familiar to Duggar family fans. She appeared frequently on 19 Kids and Counting before that show was canceled amid the Josh Duggar molestation controversy. But at some point, people began to suspect she’d had a falling out with her well-known relatives.

Amy didn’t attend her cousin Jill’s wedding in 2016. Soon after, it looked the Duggars had unfollowed Amy on social media. There were even rumors that she’s been ordered not to talk about the Counting On family in public.

But if there really was a feud between Amy and her reality TV star relatives, it seems to have been smoothed over. These days, she seems to have a good relationship with her extended family. Her cousins often post on social media about shopping at her boutique, 3130 Clothing. And the female members of her family also attended her baby shower this summer. It seems like the family has decided to put whatever differences they may have had behind them.

Counting On Season 10 premieres Tuesday, October 15 at 9/8c.
