What Jamie Lynn Spears’ said about the conservatorship
On June 28, Jamie Lynn took to Instagram to address her role in the conservatorship battle. She shared that she is “proud” of Britney and that she has been supporting her older sister in private.
“I’m so proud of her for using her voice. I am so proud of her for requesting new counsel, like I told her to do many years ago,” Spears said, according to Deadline. “Oh, not on a big public platform, but just in a personal conversation between two sisters.”
Jamie Lynn also commented on the belief held by some onlookers that she benefits from the conservatorship.
“I’ve worked to pay my own frickin’ bills since I was 10 years old,” she said. “My sister knows I love and support her, and that’s the only person I owe anything to… I have nothing to gain or lose [from the conservatorship] either way. This situation does not affect me either way because I am only her sister who is only concerned about her happiness.”
She added, “If ending the conservatorship and flying to Mars—or whatever the hell else—[is what] she wants to do to be happy, I support that 100 percent because I support my sister. I love my sister—always have, always will—as long as she’s happy.”

On July 2, Jamie Lynn took to Instagram again to urge fans to not send her violent messages.
“Hi, I respect that everyone has the right to express themselves, but can we please stop with the death threats, especially the death threats to children. – JLS,” she wrote, as reported by Page Six.

Jamie Lynn Spears oversees a trust for Britney Spears’ children
Jamie Lynn denied that she benefits from Britney’s conservatorship, though she does oversee a significant amount of money Britney has. According to The Blast, in August 2020, Jamie Lynn became the trustee of SJB Revocable Trust, which Britney set up in 2004 to financially support her children, Sean Preston and Jayden James.
Nonetheless, in Britney’s statement to the courts in June 2021, the singer named her “whole family” as people who benefit from her conservatorship. She also alleged they did not help her escape from the abusive environment she was put in.
