Jax Taylor Doesn’t Like His New ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Co-Stars, Calls Them ‘Extremely Young, Very Naive’
Vanderpump Rules is gaining some new cast members soon, but it seems as if Jax Taylor is not entirely on board. The reality star, who recently tied the knot with fellow Vanderpump Rules star Brittany Cartwright, had a few choice words for the new cast members. From the sound of it, he’s not ready to accept new blood — and he makes it sound as if the rest of the cast members are equally exclusive.
And, amidst all of this, Taylor and Cartwright are still battling rumors that they’re getting ready to divorce.
Jax Taylor thinks they’re immature
Jax Taylor is 40 years old, and it sounds as if he’s getting sick of the mentality some of his new co-stars are having. The Vanderpump Rules star certainly said as much during a recent interview with HollywoodLife.
Taylor said of his new castmates, “I’ve only hung out with one of them; the other ones are extremely young, very naive to the whole situation.” He added, “To me, some of them seem a little thirsty.”
Taylor did mention a couple of the castmates he was looking forward to working with. “The one guy that I do really like is Brett. I think he’s an amazing guy. He’s a hard worker, he’s comfortable around all of us. It’s a very tough group to break in to, our group.”
He went on to say, “And then there’s a girl, Dayna, and the girls seem to be liking her a lot too. She’s really sweet, too. Again, I haven’t filmed much with them just because I stick with my core group
Oddly enough, it sounds as if Jax Taylor and his friends are weirdly defensive when it comes to allowing others onto the show.
Gatekeeping a reality show?
For some reason, Jax Taylor doesn’t seem to enjoy welcoming new people ontoVanderpump Rules. Taylor told HollywoodLife, “We don’t really allow new people to come in, just because we have such a history of all of us.”
He added, “And we have a lot of just…we’re very close and we just don’t like people kind of breaking in to our circle, because we just don’t know what their intentions are. It’s nothing personal against these people, it’s just, we like our group the way it is.”
Taylor’s mentality is oddly focused on gatekeeping — it seems somewhat intentionally limiting and exclusive to not “allow” new people in. This sort of attitude does make it a little clearer why there’s so much drama on the show, however.
Taylor added, “Nothing against them at all. They come over to my house for pool parties and stuff, but I just am very private. I don’t like to have anybody around me that I don’t know.”
One wonders how he made friends in the first place.
Dealing with divorce rumors
Meanwhile, Taylor and Cartwright have been dealing with rumors that they’ll be splitting up soon. Both seem confused by the rumors. Taylor was seen without his ring while seemingly doing chores, and various publications took that to indicate that there was marital trouble.
Taylor and Cartwright have been pushing back on the rumors since they started flying. Recently, Taylor went to the gym and took off his ring to work out. He posted a video mocking the rumors, saying, “Little update, out of the gym … ring back on … marriage still OK.”
Here’s hoping their marriage remains rock solid.
