Jax Taylor from ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Reveals His Spending Habits (And Which Cast Member Spends the Most)

Jax Taylor from Vanderpump Rules is riding the money hemorrhage train lately. The original cast member kicked off the season purchasing a lavish engagement ring for his girl, Brittany Cartwright and is watching the wedding expenses add up.

The cast is known for dropping some serious dough on parties, trips and any fun that comes their way. But Taylor has discussed a desire to settle down and start a family soon. Plus Taylor is turning 40 in a few short months, which means he needs to harness his spending (and saving) habits to accommodate a family and plan for retirement.

Andy Cohen put Taylor in the hot seat during his appearance on Watch What Happens Live After Show about his spending. Is Taylor being a smart saver? And who did he say spends the most money on the show?

He’s in wedding mode which means he is spending cash

It started with the engagement ring and just went from there. Cartwright’s ring is worth a reported $70,000. The 3.14-carat cushion cut diamond was furnished by Vanderpump go-to jeweler Kyle Chan. He told E! News he spent several months designing the ring with Taylor, but added an extra surprise to the ring. “I added the little halo at the bottom to surprise them,” he said.

The ring is only the jumping off point. Taylor and Cartwright also have a wedding to pay for, which is likely to extend into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Since they are anticipating about 250 guests, they are renting a gorgeous castle in Kentucky that could run up to $16,500 for the entire place. Throw in $15,000 food and beverage minimum, all the other wedding incidentals, and the bill is likely to really add up.

The couple also bought a house

While on WWHL After Show, Taylor revealed that the couple recently purchased a house. Home buying appears to be a trend with the cast as Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix also became homeowners. Sandoval and Madix dropped a cool $2 million on their new pad, according to Bravo Home & Design.

Sandoval and Madix’s home is pretty amazing. The 4,500 square foot home boasts five bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms, along with butler’s pantry, Viking range, and pool with waterfall. Taylor didn’t share any details of the home he and Cartwright purchased.

Is he able to save at all?

After the couple dished a little bit about the wedding, Cohen said to Taylor he hoped he was saving money. “I have said this to you many times, over the years that I’m worried about you spending any money…” Cohen starts. Taylor says, “Not me!” referring to being an over-spender.

“I have said to you I want you to save whatever you are making from the show,” Cohen continues. Taylor refocuses and says, “Right. Well I don’t spend my show money. I spend my other stuff money. I did the Jay Leno method.”

Taylor has the highest net worth (excluding Lisa Vanderpump) on the show. He makes a reported $25,000 per Vanderpump Rules episode. Other cast members make anywhere from $10,000 to $15,000 per episode.

Who still spends a lot of money?

After he jumped out of the hot seat, Cohen asked which cast member spends the most. “Sandoval,” Cohen says. “We saw him spend $18,000 on a motorcycle just for a gag.” Taylor didn’t seem to want to dish about his buddy. But Cohen thinks Sandoval spends a lot of dough.

But then Cohen asked which of the women spends the most. “Well, Lala,” Cartwright laughs. Taylor adds that Stassi Schroeder could also be included on the list.
