Jay-Z Reveals Sweet Reason He Learned to Swim for Blue Ivy

Jay-Z is one of the world’s most popular rappers and an extremely wealthy businessman. He first became famous in the ’90s, and over the years that followed, he expanded his repertoire to become an established record producer and media proprietor.

These days, Jay-Z tends to focus more on his business ventures than his music, although fans still love when he steps on stage to perform one of his hit tunes like “Big Pimpin” or “Heartbreaker.” Jay-Z is also busy with his family, and has no problem admitting that he has revamped many parts of his life for the sake of his children, as he revealed in a recent interview on “The Shop: Uninterrupted.”

How many kids does Jay-Z have?

In 2011, Knowles surprised the world by announcing that she and Jay-Z were expecting their first child. Baby Blue Ivy Carter was born in January 2012.

Five years later, in June 2017, the couple welcomed twins, a daughter named Rumi and a son named Sir. Although Jay-Z and Knowles have maintained a high level of privacy for their children, rarely sharing photographs of the three youngsters, there’s no doubt that the children have made a huge impact on the lives of the superstar couple.

Jay-Z recently opened up about parenting and told The Sunday Times: “Feeling loved is the most important thing a child needs,” The Roc Nation founder said. “Not ‘Here’s this business that I’m going to hand over to you, that I’m creating for you.’ What if my child doesn’t want to be in music or sports? I have no idea, right? But as long as your child feels supported, and feels loved, I think anything is possible.”

Jay-Z learned how to swim after he became a father

Jay-Z has made many big concessions in his life for the sake of his children — and in a recent interview with “The Shop: Uninterrupted,” the famous rapper talked about how he changed after welcoming his oldest child, Blue Ivy.

“I didn’t learn how to swim until Blue was born,” Jay-Z admitted. “There goes everything you need to know. This is a metaphor for our relationship. If she ever fell in the water and I couldn’t get her, I couldn’t even fathom that thought. I gotta learn how to swim. That’s it. That was the beginning of our relationship.”

He went on to detail the special relationship between him and his daughter, explaining that the sassy girl isn’t a bit impressed by his accomplishments: “I got the (Hall of Fame) announcement, I was taking Blue to school, I was like, ‘This ain’t no celebration…She walked away, I was like, ‘Yo, give me a kiss I’m in the Hall of Fame!’ She’s like ‘Bye, dad.'”

Born in 1969, Jay-Z had to work hard to receive the renown that he has now. Raised in difficult circumstances, Jay-Z started writing and performing raps when he was a young teenager.

In the years that followed, Jay-Z went on to release a dozen other albums, from The Black Album to Everything Is Love, on which he collaborated with his wife, Beyoncé Knowles. It was his relationship with Knowles that helped to propel Jay-Z to superstar status — and after they started dating around 2001, fans just couldn’t get enough of the power couple

Beyoncé and Jay-Z worked hard to keep their relationship private in the early days, and it wasn’t until 2004 that they went public with their romance, appearing at that year’s MTV Video Music Awards arm in arm. Four years later, the two got married in an ultra-private ceremony at Jay-Z’s New York City penthouse.
