Did Jed Ghost His Girlfriend To Come On ‘The Bachelorette’?

Jed is a top contender on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette. After the two shared a romantic one-on-one date in Boston, the Nashville-based musician told Hannah that he was beginning to fall for her, but only after coming clean about his original intentions of coming on the show.

“When I signed up for the show, I was so clueless,” he told Hannah. “I was open to the idea because I love love. I do, I love the idea of it. But my first thought was this is like a huge platform, and I just want you to know the truth. So I came in with that mindset, but every moment that we’ve had has taken that away and shown me that now more than anything I want to be with you.”

Hannah was appreciative oh his honesty and happily gave him the date rose.

A woman named Haley Stevens is coming forward saying she and Jed were in love when he left for ‘The Bachelorette’

But now, Jed’s alleged ex-girlfriend, Haley Stevens, is coming forward with her side of the story. According to Haley, a fellow Nashville-based musician, she and Jed had been together for four months and their relationship had started to get serious just before he left for the show.

“We spent the night together the night before he headed to L.A.,” Haley told People. “He told me [the show] was just an obstacle and we’d be stronger on the other side because of it.”

Haley, 26, said that Jed had been upfront about his applying to be on The Bachelorette early on into their relationship.

“He said, ‘It’s probably not going to happen, but it’s a huge opportunity. I’m only doing this for my music.’ He only did it for his career.”

“He kept telling me, ‘I don’t want my dad to have to help me pay rent anymore.’ He said he only wanted to be top five … to be a major player so that it would be beneficial,” she added.

Haley says Jed would reassure her that “it’s not real, It’s acting,” before he went on the show. So she carried on with the relationship. After they officially found out that Jed would be joining the cast, the two took a trip to the Bahamas, where they said ‘I love you’ for the first time.

Just before he had to give up his phone, Haley says Jed called her and said: “I love you, and I’ll call you when I get back.”

To ease her nerves, Haley says she followed several spoiler accounts in an attempt to learn when her boyfriend would be coming home.

“I bought a homecoming outfit that I was going to wear to maybe pick him up at the airport,” she said.

But as the season went on, she feared her boyfriend was really falling in love with Hannah, and maybe even engaged.

Haley says she confronted Jed when she saw him at a music venue

When Jed returned to Nashville, Haley says Jed didn’t give her a call. When they ran into each other at a music venue, she says Jed offered her little explanation.

“He said, ‘Hey how have you been?’ and I said, ‘How do you think I’ve been?’ I asked him, ‘You didn’t think I deserved a phone call?’ And he said, ‘I didn’t know what to say.’”

According to People, the alleged former couple hasn’t spoken since. Haley says she doesn’t know how Jed’s time on The Bachelorette turned out.

“Everything in me wants to believe that he meant everything he said and got caught up in [the show],” she said. “I don’t believe he’s a terrible person, but it’s a terrible situation. And part of me thinks I was the backup plan and he wanted me to be here in case it didn’t work out. I feel 100% betrayed.”
