Jed Wyatt’s Sister Says ‘The Bachelorette’ Made Her ‘Look So Mean’

The Wyatt family was definitely unsure of Hannah Brown during the hometowns episode of The Bachelorette. At least, the show’s editing certainly gave that impression. After the Webers, Camerons, and Parkers welcomed Brown with open arms, the Bachelorette was faced with some pretty uncomfortable conversations in Tennessee.

First aired was Brown’s conversation with Jed’s mom, Gina. Gina expressed to Brown that she knew Jed was “just another guy” to her, and that she probably says “I love you” to “all of them.”

When Brown asked Gina about Jed’s previous relationships she replied:

“He lived, he lived his life before Bachelorette. He’s had his heart broken, he’s been loved, he’s human, he’s been through it all I think.”

And when Brown asked Gina if she thought Jed was ready to get engaged she replied:

“I wouldn’t have felt that way before just because he’s a musician. You don’t get a diploma to be a musician. So Jed’s had to have jobs and try to create time and space to do his music. It’s his heart and it’s his soul so–he couldn’t go to work full-time and do music. So his path is different, it’s very different.”

Then came Brown’s conversation with Jed’s sister, Lily. Right off the bat it was easy to tell the conversation had been heavily edited, but Lily did make one remark that truly didn’t sit well with Brown:

“I’m very protective over Jed and making music makes him so happy and honestly, like, him potentially falling in love with you, I’m like, I’m not sure that it’s a good thing.”

When the episode aired, Lily posted her reaction to her Instagram stories.

“They made me look so mean 😂,” Lily wrote alongside a screenshot from the episode. “I swear y’all our conversation went wayyyy better than this!”

There were probably lots of friendly moments shared between Brown and the Wyatt family that were edited out for dramatic effect. But there were also definitely tense moments–it seems many of those made the cut.

Jed’s sister, Lily Wyatt, is getting called out for being rude to Hannah Brown

Jed recently took to Instagram to ask people to leave him and his family alone amidst the ex-girlfriend scandal and tense hometowns episode.

“Threatening letters and phone calls have been sent to our homes. My parents and sister are being verbally attacked in public. I beg you to remember what seems like a harmless action is damaging to real people,” he wrote in his caption.

Lily’s Instagram, in particular, has been flooded with commenters asking her why she was rude to Brown.

“I understand finding love from this show is crazy, unconventional, and you guys had your guards up but I have no respect for any of your family after seeing the way you treated and teared down poor Hannah,” wrote one commenter.

“Why were you and your family so rude to Hannah?” asked another.

But among the negativity, Lily’s also found herself some new fans.

“can you please do a picture or video of the hair products you use. PLEASE,” commented one person.

“I don’t think you were rude. You were *skeptical*, like any “home town” family ought to be. You all called it the way you saw it. Refreshing!” commented another.
