Jenelle Evans and David Eason Claim to have New Evidence In Their Custody Battle
Jenelle Evans and David Eason were back in court just a couple of days after celebrating Kaiser Griffith’s fifth birthday with the family. The couple seemed a bit more confident as they strolled into the courthouse this time around, and according to Radar Online, it’s because they think they’ve uncovered something that could turn their case on its head. They, however, didn’t leave the proceedings with their children in tow, so what exactly is going on for the troubled reality TV stars?
David and Jenelle are digging into the past of a government worker
Several media outlets have reported that Evans and Eason have been working with a lawyer to dig into the past of one of the DCFS workers involved in the case. According to The Ashley, the worker in question was called to the stand to testify.
The Easons’ lawyer, however, wanted to talk more about the worker’s past than what happened on the scene. Allegedly, the couple’s lawyer uncovered a felony charge dating back more than a decade. When questioned about the charge, the worker reportedly denied the claim. They noted that they would not have been able to procure their current position with such a record.
The Ashley’s source claims that Evans and Eason’s lawyer has been working tirelessly to get the case thrown out on wild technicalities, rather than the strength of Evans and Eason’s parenting abilities. While some fans have thrown shade at the tactic, it might be the only strategy the couple has left. After all, Eason has admitted to killing the family dog with the children in the home, and there is concrete evidence that the kids were subjected to a chaotic home life while living with Evans and Eason.
Have Jenelle and David complied with the judge’s orders?
Evans insists she wants her kids back and will stop at nothing to make that happen. Before returning to court in late June, a judge allegedly gave the couple a “to-do” list. Both Evans and Eason were reportedly ordered to attend counseling, submit to drug tests, and complete parenting classes. Eason was apparently ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation.
There is no official word on what the couple has managed to get done in the time between the orders and their most recent court date, but some fans believe very little progress has been made. Many have argued that the couple would be “screaming from the rooftops” if they had actually made progress on getting the kids back. Other than a brief interaction with Radar’s cameras about having new evidence on everyone, they’ve said very little.
Where are David and Jenelle’s kids?
On May 10, Kaiser was removed from Evans and Eason’s care. Allegedly the young boy told someone at school what happened in his home. A teacher allegedly reported the incident. Nathan Griffith’s mother was told to pick up the boy directly from his pre-school.
A few days later Maryssa Eason, 11, and Ensley Eason, 2, were removed from the home. Maryssa was then placed in the care of her maternal grandmother. Ensley was moved from one temporary home to the home of Barbara Evans later that week.
The couple’s two other children have remained in their custody arrangements. Jace, 9, who is Jenelle’s son from a previous relationship, has been in the care of his grandmother since he was a baby. Eason’s five-year-old son, Kaden, remains in the care of his mother, Olivia Leedham.
Leedham has had custody of the boy since his birth. She had briefly allowed Eason to visit with the boy. She later begged a judge to revoke the visitation order after she found the home to be unstable and unsafe. Neither Kaden nor Jace are involved in the current custody battle.
