Jenna Fischer Says She’s Totally Down For A Reunion Episode of ‘The Office’
Fans of The Office have been desperate for some sort of revisitation for years. The American sitcom remains one of the most-watched television shows to this day, especially when it comes to streaming services. And while fans might want a reboot, it seems Jenna Fischer isn’t entirely behind the idea. Fischer does, however, support a reunion episode.
Jenna Fischer would do a reunion, but no reboot
Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey recently appeared on an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show to discuss their new podcast, Office Ladies. On their podcast, the two plan to watch and discuss all 201 episodes of The Office they filmed — a bold goal, but the podcast has been wildly successful.
The episode was actually hosted by Ellie Kemper, so it was a miniature reunion in its own right. At one point, Kemper asked, “I’m sure you get this question all the time. I get this question. Will there be an Office reunion, a reboot, and would you do it?”
“I would not do an Office reboot, but I would love to do a reunion special episode. I’d like to get us all together again,” answered Fischer.
Angela Kinsey replied, “I would do anything they called me to do. So if you want to call me, I’m around!”
Kemper said, “I will be there. So Angela and I are rebooting The Office.”
So while a reboot might not be in the cards for all the actors, it does sound like they might all be willing to get behind a simple reunion special — something fans of The Office would surely love to see.
Her most awkward fan moment
During the interview, Jenna Fischer also revealed that she sometimes gets asked awkward questions by fans. She said one particular question had her feeling a little old, and a little confused.
Angela Kinsey and Fischer joked about how out of touch they are with current kids and pop culture, touching on how Kinsey met Billie Eilish and had absolutely no idea who she was.
Fischer went on to say, “I’ve had young fans come up to me in stores, and they’ll say, ‘You look like an older version of that girl Pam from The Office!’ And I’ll say, ‘I am an older version of her. It’s literally me, 15 years later.’”
What Jenna Fischer thought of Steve Carrell
Jenna Fischer chatted with The Hollywood Reporter about what she thought of Steve Carrell and his performance during The Office, and she had only glowing things to say.
“When I think of Steve I just think of the word precision. He is so precise in his ability to land a joke or to land an emotional beat, and yet it appears effortless,” she said. “I don’t think you ever see him trying,” Fischer revealed.
She went on to say, “It’s just a really beautiful quality, really a treat to get to work with him for so long and get to observe that. I’m not sure if it’s something you can learn. You either just have that inherent sense of timing, or you don’t. He is a master of timing.”
