Jennifer Aniston Insists On Watching This One TV Event Every Thanksgiving

Back in October 2019, Jennifer Aniston nearly broke the internet when she joined Instagram. America’s sweetheart had long avoided social media. While the Friends star only has 13 posts, one snapshot includes her dog, Clyde. It makes perfect sense, Aniston is a massive dog lover. Because of her affinity for four-legged friends, it should come as no surprise that she has a bit of a Thanksgiving tradition. Before enjoying family festivities, she tunes in to the National Dog Show.

What are Aniston’s Thanksgiving traditions?

Aniston has some serious thanksgiving traditions. The 50-year-old actress told Maria Shriver that she wakes up on Thanksgiving to make phone calls to her friends and family. She also enjoys a Bloody Mary, tosses on the National Dog Show and takes it easy for a few hours. Her morning also includes crafting a list of things she’s grateful for. Aniston notes that the list is a long one, she says she has a ton to be thankful for.

Aniston’s Thanksgiving festivities are not reserved for the last Thursday of November, though. The famed actress hosts an expansive event the evening before Thanksgiving.  Every year she hosts a Friendsgiving celebration, and it is just as star-studded as you’d assume. Ed Sheeran was in attendance one year, and Courtney Cox always makes the guest list. Jimmy Kimmel and his family have also made an appearance at the event.

How many pets does Jennifer Aniston have?

Aniston is a massive proponent of rescue dogs, and at one point, had three living in her house. Aniston’s white German Shepard, Dolly, passed away in July 2019, prompting a reunion between Aniston and her ex-husband, Justin Theroux. Aniston adopted the dog in 2005.

She has also opened up her home to Sophie, a pit bull mix. Aniston and Theroux adopted Sophie as a puppy back in 2012. She is also the caregiver of Clyde, a terrier. Before her house was filled with three dogs, Aniston only had eyes for one.  She rescued a dog named Norman during the Friends era. Norman joined Aniston on TV shows and the talk show circuit for years, according to The Daily Mail. Norman passed away in 2011 at 15-years-old.

When Aniston and Theroux split, there were rumors that the pair were arguing over the custody of both Sophie and Clyde. The couple adopted the dogs together, and an alleged custody battle was in the works. The rumors were, obviously, untrue. Theroux and Aniston appear to be on good terms, and the dogs seemingly stayed in Aniston’s care. Theroux did surface in New York City with a new pooch, a pit bull, shortly after he headed back to New York.

When is the National Dog Show?

The National Dog Show, presented by Purina, will air on NBC. While the show will air on Thanksgiving Day, the actual competition has already taken place. According to Fansided, the yearly event was held at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center on Nov.16.

The National Dog Show is one of three major events in the show circuit. Most fans are familiar with the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. The event takes place in New York City at Madison Square Garden. The 2020 show will be held in February. The 2020 Golden Gate Dog Show will be held on Jan. 25 at the Cow Palace Arena and Event Center.
