Jennifer Lawrence’s Celebrity Friendships Over the Years
Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence has made fans fall in love with her not just with her performances, but also with her red carpet antics and overall honesty about what it’s like to be famous. While she never fails to share stories about eating pizza, drinking wine, and falling (a lot), she keeps her romantic relationships as private as she can. However, she does sometimes like to talk about her friendships, some of which are with other famous women. Here’s a look at those notable friendships she’s maintained over the years.
This is a friendship that has made its mark on Hollywood as one of the greatest in history. Lawrence met Stone through Woody Harrelson, whom Lawrence worked with on the Hunger Games films and Stone acted opposite in Zombieland a few years prior. They actually first “met” over text message, and became friends that way. Since then, they’ve attended events together, like the 2017 Governors Awards.
A few months before Stone’s 30th birthday, Lawrence interviewed her friend for Elle Magazine. The transcript is full of sweet moments in which they compliment one another, talk about things they do together, and generally just have a good time. Stone called Lawrence one of her “most loyal friends for years.”
A more recent friendship for Lawrence is her important one with comedian Amy Schumer, which began sometime in 2015. They decided to work together almost immediately, and began a script for a film in which they would co-star as sisters. The movie appears to be on the backburner for now, but that doesn’t mean that their friendship is.
The close pals presented together at the 2016 Golden Globes. They’ve also gone on vacations together. And in Feb. 2018, when Schumer married Chris Fischer, Lawrence was there. She even allegedly gave a toast to the newlyweds.
In March 2019, the internet erupted when a joyous occasion took place: Adele and Lawrence were seen dancing, drinking, and laughing a lot at gay night club Pieces in New York. The Grammy-winner and Oscar-winner appeared to be having an incredible time, posing for pictures and playing drinking games.
As it turns out, the two household names have been friends for quite some time. They were spotted with Stone leaving dinner together one night in Nov. 2017, and that’s definitely not the first time they’ve hung out. In fact, Lawrence wrote Adele’s profile for Time’s 100 Most Influential People list in 2016, in which she said they had been friends since meeting at the Oscars in 2013.
Another popular actress from Lawrence’s generation is Emma Watson, best known for her starring role in the Harry Potter franchise. And though the two may not exactly be friends, they did have one very interesting moment together in their past.
In 2014, both attended a Dior fashion show in Paris. It’s hard to say exactly what happened here, but Lawrence ended up with her hand covering Watson’s face in what was clearly some kind of silly accident. Watson doesn’t appear to have any ill will towards the Mother! actress: In 2015, she tweeted about an article Lawrence wrote about the gender pay gap in Hollywood, saying, “O Jennifer Lawrence I love you so.”
Could Lawrence have a new friend in the biz? Though they haven’t been noted as a duo in the past, Lawrence and model/actress Cara Delevingne were spotted sitting together — also at a Dior fashion show. In Feb. 2019, both were in Paris for the Fashion Week Womenswear Fall/Winter 2019/2020 collection viewing, and they appear to be very well acquainted. Whether or not they plan to hang out in the future remains to be seen, but this is definitely a friendship we can get behind.
