Jennifer Lopez’s Chef Reveals the 2 Foods She Absolutely Hates

Jennifer Lopez has lived in the spotlight for over half of her life. She gained fame in the ’90s and has since found success as a singer, dancer, actor, and entrepreneur.

Given her lengthy stint in the limelight, fans might think they know everything about the Grammy winner. But chances are, there are a few things that have probably slipped under the radar. Like… what are her least favorite foods?

Jennifer Lopez’s least favorite foods revealed

Lopez may have a diverse palette, but there are some things that will likely never touch her plate. Her chef, Kelvin Fernandez, told Us Weekly in an interview published on May 10 that there are at least two foods Lopez absolutely can’t stand — one being salmon.

“I know Jennifer doesn’t love salmon, so if I’m cooking salmon for the [table], I always got to do a sea bass or a halibut or cod for Jennifer because she’s just not a fan of the texture and the taste of salmon,” Fernandez explained.

“So those are just things that you learn over time. I can’t remember the amount of times that I would have to ask over and over again about dietary restrictions and allergies just because you don’t want to mess up, even though you know.”

In addition to that, Lopez apparently can’t get into berries, either — even though it’s one of her kids’ favorite snacks. According to Fernandez, Lopez always has them on hand for her 12-year-old twins, Maximillion and Emme, but never indulges in them herself.

“Sparkling water, always fruits and vegetables, like strawberries, even though Jennifer is not a big fruit person,” he continued. “The kids love their fresh berries. There’s always greens like spinach, cucumber, and celery to make green juice. They love starting their day with a green juice. Eggs is always the biggest one. Turkey bacon is always the biggest one.”

Lopez likes to follow a healthy eating regimen — complete with organic foods.

“I have her eating very clean because she needs really good fuel for all the things that she’s doing,” her trainer, Tracy Anderson, previously told People. “It’s all organic and it’s all very well thought out, with the balance of very high-quality proteins and a lot of nutrient-dense food… everything is fresh.”

She generally steers away from junk food, but her fiancé, Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez, revealed in 2019 that she has her moments when she slips up. He noted in an appearance on NBC’s Shark Tank that she loves cookies and tends to eat at least one every night.

Lopez herself fessed up to this in a 2014 episode of American Idol, on which she appeared as a judge. But for her, it’s all about balance.

“Throughout the years I’ve learned the importance of maintaining a healthier […] diet,” she previously told People. “I still eat some of the foods I love, but in moderation. I don’t deprive myself.”
