‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’: Is Snooki in the New Episodes?
Can fans handle a Jersey Shore without Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi? The 32-year-old reality TV icon shocked fans in December when she announced that she was leaving Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.
“I’m gonna throw up. OK, you guys, I love you so much and don’t hate me for my decision, but I have to do what’s best for me at the moment, and I am retiring from Jersey Shore,” she said during a Dec. 6 episode of her podcast It’s Happening with Snooki & Joey. “I am not coming back to Jersey Shore for a season 4 if there is one.”
We’ll still see more Snooki
In her podcast, the mom of three explained that she wanted to spend more time with her kids. She also said that she was no longer at a place in her life where crazy partying had much appeal.
“I don’t like partying like three days in a row, it’s just not my life anymore and I wanna be home with the kids,” she explained. She also said that she was over all the drama.
“[W]hen I leave my kids and I film the show, I want to have a good time, and I’m putting myself out there,” she said. “I just wanna come off as a good person and lately on the show, it’s just been very drama … lately it’s just like everything is so serious.”
Fortunately for Jersey Shore fans, we don’t have to say goodbye to Polizzi just yet. She’ll still appear in the upcoming episodes of the show, which are the second half of season 3.
“I filmed this season prior to quitting,” she explained in an Instagram comment on Feb. 25. “We filmed this season last summer.”
Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino begged her not to quit
While Snooki has good reasons for leaving Jersey Shore behind, her castmates were sorry to see her go. Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino told Us Weekly he did all he could to get her to stay.
“I didn’t agree with it, but I have to support my sister,” Sorrentino told the magazine. “I had texted her, called her and tried to convince her to reconsider but she has to do what’s right for her and we have to support her as a family.”
He added that he was holding out hope that she’d change her mind. “Maybe she’ll come back and revisit, maybe she’ll have a change of heart,” he said. “Who knows? I’m hopeful for the future.”
Vinny Guadagnino says balancing work and family was too much for Snooki
Fellow Jersey Shore star Vinny Guadagnino also spoke to Us Weekly about Snooki’s exit. He said that balancing motherhood and work simply became too difficult his friend.
“It’s like, you want to do this thing so bad but you get pulled back in to your newborn baby and stuff,” Guadagnino said. (Polizzi gave birth to her third child in May 2019.) “So hopefully, she can find a way — if there is one out there — to balance both. But right now, the scale, I think, was kind of tipping toward, it wasn’t working out.”
Jersey Shore: Family Vacation returns to MTV on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 8/7c.
