‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ Cast Say ‘No News is Good News’ When it Comes to Ronnie Ortiz-Magro
Jersey Shore fans know that Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has had it rough. Throughout early seasons of Jersey Shore, he was in a toxic relationship with Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola. More recently, he was in-and-out of another toxic relationship, this time with Jen Harley.
Toxic relationships weren’t the only thing Ortiz-Magro struggled with. He also had difficulty with alcohol abuse and depression. Despite the rough patches that have plagued Ortiz-Magro’s past, his Jersey Shore: Family Vacation co-stars said he’s in a more positive place now.
Ronnie and Jen’s tumultuous relationship
The MTV cameras captured the unhealthy relationship Ortiz-Magro and Harley shared. From there blow-out fight in Las Vegas to the countless text arguments the two would engage in, it became abundantly clear to the Jersey Shore cast and crew that he wasn’t in the healthiest relationship.
Ortiz-Magro broke it off with Harley on multiple occasions, but it wasn’t always easy. The two share a child together, Ariana Sky. Unfortunately, in October 2019, Ortiz-Magro faced charges for brandishing a weapon, child endangerment, criminal threats, false imprisonment, and resisting arrest.
After countless legal battles, Ortiz-Magro finally ended things with Harley in January of 2020. Shortly after, they decided to sell their Las Vegas home.
A future with Jennifer Harley looks grim
Now, it seems like Ortiz-Magro is doing well. In a recent episode of Family Vacation, Ortiz-Magro was read by a psychic medium. She explained that his daughter, Ariana, was his saving grace.
However, the medium had nothing but negative things to say regarding his relationship with Harley. She even took Ortiz-Magro aside to explain how bad a future with Harley could be. When his cast-mates asked what she said, Ortiz-Magro replied: “Nothing I didn’t already know.”
With Ronnie, no news is good news
In an interview with Us Magazine, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Vinny Guadagnino spoke to Ortiz-Magro’s current state. “Ronnie’s doing good. Every now and again, he’ll text and he’ll say, ‘Everything’s good.’ And that’s all we can ask for,” Sorrentino explained.
Guadagnino also pointed out how “when there’s no news, it’s good news” in Ortiz-Magro’s case. In the past, he consistently made negative headlines, which is how his Jersey Shore co-stars kept track of what he was doing.
How is Ronnie Ortiz-Magro now?
Throughout what we’ve seen this season of Family Vacation, Ortiz-Magro seems calmer and more collected overall. After spending some time in a rehabilitation center, Ortiz-Magro appears to have a level-headed approach and is focused on raising his daughter. According to cast mate Angelina Pivarnick, Ortiz-Magro is also “focused on business.” He is the founder of CBD company called Verge.
There’s plenty of upcoming drama on this season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, but none of it seems to center around Ortiz-Magro. It must be refreshing for him to sit back and watch as the others get tangled up in drama. Instead, the relationship spotlight is on Farley, who finalized her divorce from Roger Mathews.
To keep up with Ortiz-Magro, tune in to Jersey Shore: Family Vacation Thursday nights on MTV.
