Ronnie Ortiz-Magro’s latest legal trouble is still unfolding. He reportedly got into another fight with Jen Harley, and it ended with him allegedly getting tased and arrested.
It was originally reported that the Jersey Shore star is facing five charges after the rest. There was then an update that he is facing more charges than that including false imprisonment of Harley. Find out what the other charges are and more.
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro was arrested and reportedly tased
On Oct. 4 the reality star was arrested. Harley reportedly claimed he was intoxicated before there was an incident at the Airbnb they rented.
TMZ reported that he chased Harley with a knife before dropping it and locking himself in the property with their daughter, Ariana. The police reportedly came and tased him.
Ortiz-Magro’s lawyer, Scott E. Leemon gave a statement regarding the arrest. “The reporting of the alleged incident relating to Ronnie Magro yesterday is based upon pure speculation and innuendo,” Leemon told Entertainment Tonight. “We are currently conducting our own investigation and will have no further comment until that has been concluded.”
An insider also pointed out to People something about the reporting that could be false. “Ron did not have a knife and Jen doesn’t know where the idea of a knife came from,” said the insider. This claim has yet to be confirmed or denied by police.
His bond was set at $100,000 and he was later released from jail. There was an emergency protective order, which ordered him to stay 100 yards away from Harley. However, that was lifted and didn’t keep him away from their daughter.
It was previously reported that he’s facing 5 charges
Ortiz-Magro has been charged after the arrest. It was previously reported that he is facing five charges.
TMZ reported that the charges are one of domestic violence, one count of brandishing a weapon, one count of child endangerment, one count of resisting arrest and one count of criminal threats.
This was after it was reported that some of the charges being considered before won’t be used against him. That includes a felony domestic violence charge. Instead the City Attorney’s office confirmed he would be charged with a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.
He is reportedly also being charged for false imprisonment
There were two other charges left out of a round of reporting, according to The Blast. These charges were found in legal documents.
Ortiz-Magro is reportedly being charged for false imprisonment and two charges of resisting arrest for each police officer. He was reportedly tased in order to be taken into custody.
This means the reality star is facing seven charges total. He could face up to a year in jail for each charge against him.
Ortiz-Magro has since posted pictures of his daughter at a pumpkin patch after the arrest. He also posted a message in his Instagram story.
“Outgrowing people is natural. Never bring yourself down, find people on your level,” the message read according to Us Weekly. He also wrote, “Protect your peace from those who are committed to misunderstanding you.” His relationship with Harley is reportedly over.
