‘Jersey Shore’: Which Cast Member Had The Biggest Turnaround
Back in 2009, the reality TV world was finally given the one thing they never knew they were missing; a band of hard-partying 20-somethings. Sure, MTV had already shoved a bunch of strangers in a house together on The Real World for years, but Jersey Shore was something entirely different. Over the last 10 years, those same 20-somethings have grown up and grown on each other. Some have changed for the better, and others have changed for the worse. For now, let’s focus on the good. Which housemate has had the most positive turnaround?
Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ Giancola seems to have grown up nicely
Giancola opted out of appearing on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. She made the decision to avoid any toxic situations and save her budding relationship in the process. All seems to be well for Giancola now. Engaged and seemingly happy with how her life is turning out, she has no plans on returning to reality TV, or at least a reality TV world that includes her toxic ex, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro.
Giancola’s life is a quiet and happy one now, it seems, but that wasn’t always the case. The world watched as a then-20-something Giancola attempted to navigate an abusive relationship while the cameras rolled. No one will ever forget the sight of Giancola surfing on a bed that Ortiz-Magro was trying to hurl off the shore house’s porch. Her ability to get away from a toxic situation and stay away from it puts her in the running for the most significant turnaround.
Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi
Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi became an overnight sensation back in 2009, and for a good reason. Pint-sized and ready to party, she made sure everyone knew her name, but Polizzi’s brand of partying was more than a little sloppy. In fact, she spent more than one season embarrassing herself when blackout drunk. She even got punched in the face once.
Polizzi has left her partying days behind. She’s traded in her signature hair poof for a diaper bag. Now the mother of three, Polizzi has simmered things down, matured substantially, and seems to be really enjoying domestic life. Who would have guessed, back in 2009, that Polizzi would become a top-notch mom to three kids and an accomplished businesswoman? Not many people who watched her on Jersey Shore. It’s safe to say that Polizzi changed a lot.
Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino
Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino was perhaps the most troubled Jersey Shore star for a long while. A serious drug problem, hard-partying ways, and a plethora of legal battles made Sorrentino look like an absolute mess. Today, things have changed a lot for him. He’s sober, married, and just put all of his legal troubles behind him.
Clear-eyed and logical, Sorrentino looked like an entirely different guy when he showed up on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. For Sorrentino, it certainly seems that the comeback was, in fact, greater than the setbacks. As long as the Jersey resident stays on the same path, it’s safe to say he’s had the most significant turnaround, and he’s clearly put a lot of work into maintaining the good times.
