There’s going to be another Duggar baby this spring!
Fans have been speculating about which Duggar would get pregnant next, and many weren’t surprised to find that it’s Jessa Seewald. The Counting On star announced in early January that she and her husband, Ben Seewald, are going to be adding a third little bundle of joy to the mix in the spring.
The couple got married in November 2015 and already have two sons, Spurgeon Elliot (3), and Henry Wilberforce (23 months).
Are Jessa and Ben excited about the pregnancy?
In a statement, Jessa expressed her enthusiasm about having her third baby – even though three means she and her husband will officially be outnumbered. Still, she does have plenty of experience with being part of a big family.
On her blog, Jessa had all positive things to say about her growing bundle of joy: “We are overjoyed that God has blessed us with a baby, due late this Spring! From the day we found out we were expecting, we both guessed boy, and if our predictions are right then we already have a ton the clothing and accessories ready to pass down! At the same time, we would absolutely love it if we found out we were having a girl — though we’ve joked that we’d be starting from square one and might have to learn a few things.”
What do their kids think about the new baby on the way?
Ben confirms that he’s excited to have a newborn in the house again and that their sons are looking forward to their big brother duties.
Ben said, “Henry doesn’t have a clue what’s coming, but Spurgeon understands and he talks about the baby quite a bit. Seeing our boys meet their new sibling for the first time is something we are really looking forward to! We realize that, in going from two to three kids, we’re about to switch from man-to-man to zone coverage, so we’ve definitely been taking advice from friends who are already in this stage! We love being parents and are really looking forward to this new arrival!”
What will they name the baby?
While the Seewalds haven’t said what names they’re considering, it’s likely that they’ll be less traditional than some other Duggar family names. Spurgeon has the most unique name in the family since he’s named after Charles Spurgeon, a preacher from the 1800s. His middle name is Elliot in honor of missionary Jim Elliot. Henry Wilberforce is named for minister and author Matthew Henry and abolitionist William Wilberforce.
Will they have more children after this?
For many people, having three children is considered a big family – but not for the Duggars. This probably won’t be the last baby to join the Seewald family, especially since Jessa and Ben have expressed interest in growing their family before. Jessa even said, “adopting and fostering to adopt is very much in our hearts.” There’s a good chance this baby won’t be their last.
Congrats to the Seewalds!
