Is ‘Jessica Jones’ Star Krysten Ritter Married?

Actress Krysten Ritter showed up to the premiere of Jessica Jones Season 3 looking very different from the eponymous character. Sure, she was all decked out in red (Jessica tends to stick to more neutral colors), but the biggest difference was that Ritter was pregnant! That’s right, Ritter is expecting. Here’s what you need to know about her career, personal life, and the future of the show on Netflix.

Who is Krysten Ritter?

While you likely recognize her face from the Netflix advertisements, you may not be familiar with all of Ritter’s work. Though she began her career as a model, Ritter quickly transitioned into acting. One of her first roles was as Gia Goodman in Veronica Mars Season 2, which she followed with recurring arcs on popular series such as Gilmore Girls and ‘Til Death.

Ritter gained notoriety for portraying Jane Margolis, Jesse’s girlfriend who overdoses, on Breaking Bad. Around this time, she appeared in supporting roles in romantic comedies like Confessions of a Shopaholic and She’s Out Of My League. In 2012, Ritter landed her first lead role in a TV series, playing Chloe in Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23.

Is she married?

Ritter is not married, but she is in a long-term relationship. She and Adam Granduciel, frontman for the band The War On Drugs, have been together since June 2014. And now, they’re expecting their first child together.

Ritter first shared her exciting news when she attended the 2019 Academy Awards, putting her figure on full display. She then made it Instagram official when she posted a shot from the red carpet with the simple caption “Surprise!!!”

Ritter’s work beyond acting

In addition to her on-camera role in Jessica Jones, Ritter has also stepped behind the camera. She directed the second episode of Season 3, which is due out (along with the rest of the episodes) on June 14.

Ritter also has other passions outside of the entertainment industry. She wrote a novel, Bonfire, which is currently available for purchase. She is also an avid knitter, and frequently shares photos of her creations on Instagram with the clever hashtag #KrystenKnitter. Her beloved dog, Mikey, also makes a lot of appearances (and even comes with her to set).

Here’s what we know about Jessica Jones Season 3

As you’re likely aware, last year, Netflix canceled all of its Marvel series. This has a little to do with ratings, but also comes just as Disney prepares to launch its own streaming service, Disney+, which will feature plenty of new Marvel content. Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist have all aired their final seasons, and now, Jessica Jones is doing the same.

So what can we expect from the third and final season? So far, we only have a date announcement trailer, which doesn’t provide much information. A man’s voice says, “Jessica Jones. You are a fraud. You are a cheater. No longer.” And we see Jessica react to a knock at her door. Fortunately, it’s almost guaranteed that we’ll get one more sneak peek before the series is released, so stay tuned.
