Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard Decorated for Christmas With No Help From the Other Duggars

Now that Thanksgiving is over and the holidays are upon us, we know the Duggars are getting ready for all of their big family events. Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar recently shared photos of their Thanksgiving feast via the Duggar Family Instagram. And Anna Duggar, Josh’s wife, added her own post about the annual ugly sweater Christmas party the entire family partakes in.

While it seems like most of the Duggars are involved in the holiday cheer, fans believe Jill Duggar and her husband, Derick Dillard, are on the outs. And Jill recently posted all about her family’s Thanksgiving spent without the other Duggars as well as their Christmas decorating that took place soon after. And it’s clear Jill and Derick were adorning their home with lights and ornaments without any family help.

Fans believe Derick Dillard isn’t on good terms with the Duggar family

While many of the Duggars make appearances on TLC’s Counting On, Jill and Derick, along with their young kids, Israel and Samuel, aren’t typically among them. Derick was removed from TLC due to transphobic tweets he released about Jazz Jennings, though he contests that the network removed him and instead insists that he and Jill left on their own accord. In either case, there’s been plenty of speculation from fans that since then, the Duggars haven’t gotten along well with Derick.

To make matters worse, Derick took to Twitter in Mid-November to slam TLC once again — and he dragged Jim Bob, too. Not only did Derick claim that TLC “begged” him and Jill to not quit filming, but he also stated that Jim Bob didn’t tell any of his adult kids who are on the show about the contracts that were negotiated with TLC.

“If money is all they care about, then it’s going to catch-up with them—you must care about ppl. All I’ve got to say is, they better lawyer-up b/c a storm is inevitable,” Derick fired off on Twitter.

Jill Duggar and Derick didn’t attend the Duggar’s Thanksgiving

To add fuel to the fire, Jill and Derick skipped out on the Duggar family’s big Thanksgiving feast. The Duggar Family Instagram included photos of the holiday meal, and tons of friends and family were in attendance.

“We love having a house full of people for the holidays and invite those who don’t have family in the area to spend the holidays with us!” the Duggars captioned their Thanksgiving post. “We say, there’s always room for one more!”

As for Jill and Derick, they stayed home and had their own “Friendsgiving” instead. “We had a great time celebrating Thanksgiving with some friends in our new, cozy little home,” Jill wrote on her Dillard Family blog. She then went on to explain that part of the day included watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade while friends gathered around and ate all the delicious food.

The couple decorated for Christmas all by themselves

We’re not exactly sure where Jill stands with her family now, but it seems she doesn’t spend too much time with her parents or siblings anymore. And while the Duggars often get together for a variety of activities, it looks like Jill and Derick chose to decorate their home for Christmas all by themselves.

“We were so excited to finally put up our Christmas decorations for the first time in our new home!” Jill wrote on the Dillard Family blog. And she also included plenty of photos of her Christmas tree, a wreath from a family friend, Advent calendar cards, stockings, and white string lights hung all around their home. Additionally, she added a photo of Derick’s mother, Cathy, helping the kids make gingerbread houses — but Jill’s own parents are nowhere to be found.

Is this an indicator that Jill and Derick will be doing their own thing with the kids this holiday season? We’re not sure yet — and we’re also not sure if they attended the annual ugly sweater Christmas party at the Duggar family home. But we’re sure we’ll find out soon!
