Jill Duggar And Derick Dillard’s Latest Move Has ‘Counting On’ Fans Convinced Of A Duggar Family Rift
For more than a decade, fans of 19 Kids & Counting and Counting On have watched Jill Duggar grow up. She started as a young teenager who loved following the family’s strict rules – she once turned a pair of pants from her volunteer firefighter uniform into a skirt – and then her dad, Jim Bob, introduced her to Derick Dillard. Within just a few months, Duggar and Dillard met, started courting, got engaged, and got married. And, through it all, her parents and 18 siblings were there for love and support.
The Duggars normally do things as a family
Fans who have followed the large family as they have grown and changed also noticed over the years that the Duggars love to do things together. They are always there to help each other out, and that was especially obvious when Josh and Anna Duggar moved to Washington DC, and Jinger Duggar moved to Laredo, Texas. The family was there to help them pack and move into their new homes.
But, when Jill and Derick recently moved to a new town just a few miles away from the Duggar Arkansas compound, not a single Duggar was there to help them out. And, this has led many fans to believe that a major rift has occurred in the famous family.
Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard just built a new home
According to OK! Magazine, last month Jill announced that she and Derick – plus their two kids Israel and Samuel – were moving to Lowell, Arkansas because it was “closer to family and more centrally located in Northwest Arkansas.” They kept news of the move quiet for months while they waited for their new home to be built.
Finally, on April 27, Jill told fans that she and her family had moved into their new home, and she was sharing the update after they had a chance to settle in. However, when she posted pics of the move, fans immediately noticed that Jill and Derick had hired movers and enlisted a few friends to help with the move, and none of her siblings were around to help even though many of them were just minutes away.
Derick Dillard rarely makes appearances at Duggar family events
In addition to documenting their lives on reality television, the married members of the Duggar clan keep fans up to date with their social media posts. This is the only way Counting On fans can keep up with Derick and Jill because TLC fired him from the show in late 2017 after he went on a transphobic Twitter rant slamming fellow TLC star Jazz Jennings.
As an act of solidarity, Jill Duggar left the show, and over the past year and a half, she has attempted to build her own brand with the family blog and her Instagram page. Jill is constantly posting pics of her daily life and loves to gush about her husband. But, when Jill and other members of the Duggar family post pics and videos from family events, Derick is rarely around.
The Duggars were silent on Dillard’s birthday
Another hint that Derick could be on the outs with the Duggar family is the fact that none of his in-laws wished him happy birthday on social media when he turned 30 in March, and the Duggars love to post messages when family members celebrate birthdays and other life events.
The assumption is that Derick’s hateful social media activity led him to fall out of favor with his in-laws, and many followers believe that the Duggars are trying to phase Derick out of their lives.
It appears that Jill might be choosing her husband over her parents and siblings because she has also started to appear less and less at family events.
Derick and Jill have put ‘Counting On’ behind them
After leaving the reality show that made them famous, there appears to be distance between the Dillards and the Duggars. Derick has claimed that they left the show by choice (not because TLC fired him), saying the family was moving in a new direction.
Jill is now a stay-at-home mom and Derick is attending law school. Wherever Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard are going, it doesn’t look like her large family will be around that often, if at all.
