Jill Duggar Just Proved That Her Husband, Derick Dillard, Actually Helps Out Around the House
Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard have been changing the game quite a bit when it comes to how they raise their family. Duggar, who is the second-oldest daughter of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, has been breaking plenty of rules in terms of how her family functions.
Duggar recently made it clear that her husband actually helps out with errands and household duties — something that has traditionally been the woman’s responsibility in the Duggar family.
Duggar and Dillard have had a rocky relationship with Duggar’s family
Ever since Duggar and Dillard left Counting On back in 2017, things have been somewhat of a rollercoaster between the couple and Duggar’s parents. Dillard seemed to go on a bit of a rant about how Jim Bob is reportedly in control of all of the family’s money, and it seemed to be the real cause of bad blood between the two.
Dillard also revealed that he and Duggar need permission to visit her parents’ house, which doesn’t seem to be a rule that applies to the other kids. The two separated themselves from the family for a while and didn’t even attend the Duggars’ family holidays.
The two have carved their own path away from her family’s rules
Duggar and Dillard haven’t been following Michelle and Jim Bob’s rule book the way many thought they would. Duggar recently cut her hair off and started wearing jeans — even some with rips — which is something that was not allowed by her parents while she was growing up. Even more surprisingly, Duggar recently announced that she had decided to enroll her son in public kindergarten — something that her parents were largely against because of the lack of religion in the education curriculum.
Duggar just showed that Dillard has been a major help during the coronavirus outbreak
Duggar has been feeling the effects of the coronavirus outbreak just like the rest of us. She took to Instagram on March 15 to share her toilet paper hunt with her followers (she was able to find some toilet paper at WalMart).
Later, Duggar posted a photo of her husband to her Instagram story, praising him for going out and getting some items on her list, from soap to medicine. She also mentioned that he had gone on a toilet paper hunt as well but hadn’t had any luck. The Duggar men typically leave the household duties to their wives, but Duggar and Dillard seem to be splitting things pretty evenly.
The two seem to be getting back into her parents’ good graces
These days, the tone has shifted a bit between Duggar and her family. Her sister, Jessa Duggar, recently posted photos of all the daughter’s spending the day together, and she made Jill Duggar the focus of the images. And Michelle and Jim Bob recently wished Dillard a happy birthday on Instagram — something they hadn’t done in a long time. Fans hope that Dillard and Duggar are getting back in her parents’ good graces and are finally patching things up, but time will tell.
