Jill Duggar Made a ‘Surprise Visit’ to Amy Duggar After Derick Dillard Divulged Family Secrets
We’ve been watching the Duggars via TLC for years, but it’s Jill Duggar who’s making the biggest splash, now. Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard, have two young sons, Samuel and Israel, and the family appears to live their lives totally separate from the rest of Jill’s parents and 18 siblings. Since the end of December 2019, Derick has spoken out against the Duggars as well. And a recent interview with the YouTube and social media presence Without a Crystal Ball is bringing even more to light.
Jill and Derick aren’t the only ones to speak out against Jill’s family, either. Amy Duggar has made it known she’s on Jill and Derick’s side. And recently, it seems Jill paid Amy a visit after Derick’s latest interview went live.
Derick Dillard spoke out against Jill Duggar’s family and TLC
Many suspected Derick and Jill have been on the outs with the rest of the Duggars for quite some time. And at the end of 2019, Derick admitted to his Instagram followers that he didn’t have a close relationship with the Duggars. He also noted that he and Jill had to ask Jim Bob explicit permission before entering the large Duggar home. And, according to Derick, TLC pressured him and Jill into participating on the show when they wished not to.
Now, Derick is coming forward with even more truths. He told Without a Crystal Ball that he and Jill are no longer affiliated with the Institute of Basic Life Principles. This Christian ministry is known for its controversial and conservative views that Jim Bob and Michelle tend to follow.
Not only that, but Derick also noted that TLC dictated when he and Jill would make major announcements regarding life milestones. From their engagement to their pregnancies, Derick said it was all up to the network as to how and when the public would know.
Amy Duggar has also spoken out against Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar
Derick isn’t the only one to condemn the Duggars and TLC for the decisions they’ve made. Amy, the notoriously outspoken Duggar cousin, has also shared her thoughts and feelings.
In 2016, Amy took to social media to answer some questions about her relationship with the Duggars, according to People. And Amy noted that if she wants to see her younger cousins, she’s the one who has to go over and see them at Jim Bob and Michelle’s.
“We’ve had a girls night before and have gone out to eat. It’s a rule though that if I want to spend quality time with them I have to come see them,” she noted.
That’s not the last time Amy’s talked about her family, either. She also spoke to Without a Crystal Ball, but TV Shows Ace notes the interview was taken down. This resulted in many fans wondering if Amy was purposely silenced because she mentioned her life growing up and a bit about the Duggars.
Jill made a ‘surprise visit’ to Amy amidst the chaos
We know Amy’s ultra-supportive of Derick for speaking his truth. We’re not sure how the Duggars are reacting to Derick’s recent interview, but there’s evidence that Jill is seeking solace with her cousin. Amy continues to write supportive comments on Jill’s Instagram no matter the subject matter. And, despite warnings to social distance, it seems Jill is going out of her way to visit Amy for some one-on-one time.
According to Reddit, Amy posted a photo of Jill outside of her home to her Instagram Story, and it seems Derick was in the car next to Jill. “Loved the surprise visit!!” Amy captioned the post.
“I honestly think this photo is just to further prove to Jim Bob that Amy and Jill support each other,” one Reddit user guessed.
“I’m happy for her honestly. She didn’t have to go from 18 siblings to absolutely nothing,” another wrote.
We’re glad Jill and Derick are in good company with Amy at this time, as the interview with Without a Crystal Ball is sure to bring backlash.
