Jill Duggar’s Followers Have Mixed Feelings About Her Date Night to a Restaurant With Derick Dillard

Out of all of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s 19 kids, it’s Jill Duggar who seems to be taking the most precautions when it comes to coronavirus (COVID-19). When the pandemic began, Jill showed her Instagram followers how well she, her husband Derick Dillard, and her two kids were following social distancing protocol. But now that the country is opening back up, Jill might be letting her guard down.

Jill and Derick recently went out on a date night to one of their favorite Italian restaurants — and they sat indoors. Here’s what their followers are saying about it.

Many of the Duggars didn’t appear to take coronavirus precautions seriously, but Jill did. When the virus started to take hold in the U.S., Jill brought her followers along with her via video as she went from store to store looking for toilet paper.

Since then, she’s taken her boys on social distancing outings down to the lake so they can go fishing. And she also posted a photo to Instagram showing off a tree she bought while quarantined.

Jill did have a coronavirus scare, though. “A few weeks ago we decided to get tested for coronavirus after we all suddenly started running fevers and had body aches and some of the other symptoms consistent with the coronavirus,” Jill wrote on her family blog. Thankfully, she got tested quickly — and the test came back negative.

Jill and Derick should continue to take coronavirus precautions as their state opens up and they can venture out into the world. But the couple’s also a fan of date nights, so there’s no doubt they’ll take the opportunity to go out without their sons when they get it.

Jill posted a photo on July 4th showing her and Derick in masks while sitting indoors at a restaurant. And the following photos in the series showed them unmasked and eating.

“Kid free date night last night at the amazing #pastafina here in our area!” Jill captioned the post. “If you’re a local and you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out!!” She then added a bit about how she and Derick make date nights a priority for their marriage, and she has additional tips for spicing up marriages on her Dillard Family blog.

In addition to the photos, Jill also added a video of her and Derick indoor dining. “We’re enjoying a date night — a kid-free date night — at Pastafina,” Jill told the camera totally unmasked. And it looked like they were the only patrons in the place when Jill panned the camera.

It looks like Jill’s followers have mixed feelings about Jill and Derick’s choice of eating indoors at a time like this.

“Looks like a fun date night!” one supportive follower commented. “Those are so important and y’all look so happy!”

“Thanks for posting with masks!” another noted.

Others didn’t understand the point of the masks if Jill and Derick just have to take them off to eat.

“Why on earth would you need masks if you’re about to eat?” another follower questioned.

“Virtue signaling,” another added. “All cool that you wore a mask in, but it wasn’t necessary at that moment since food was there.”

“Aren’t you scared of the pandemic?” yet another questioned. “How do you get through this fear? It’s so hard for me since me and my son have health issues!”

It looks like Jill and Derick think it’s safe enough to eat indoors as long as social distancing measures are put into place. We’re hoping they stay happy and healthy through this difficult time.
