Jinger Duggar’s California Style: ‘Counting On’ Star Reveals She’s a Fan of This Popular Discount Store

Jinger Duggar has a whole new look. Over the past few years, the Counting On star has ditched the dark, curly locks and shapeless dresses and skirts that were the long the signature look of the Duggar daughters. Since marrying former pro soccer player Jeremy Vuolo and moving out of Arkansas, the 25-year-old has embraced skinny jeans, updated her hair color, and generally adopted a more stylish look.

Now, Jinger and Jeremy are newly minted Californians and she’s embraced a sunny, SoCal look since relocating to the Los Angeles area. But even though her wardrobe has changed, Jinger is still a Duggar. That means she loves a good bargain, as she revealed in a recent Instagram post.

Counting On fans will remember Jinger’s love of thrift shopping. In fact, when she married Jeremy Vuolo, her dad Jim Bob warned her husband-to-be that he would have to be prepared to support her “expensive” shopping habit on his modest pastor’s salary.

“We love shopping at thrift stores,” Jinger explained in a 2017 episode of Counting On. “We’re always looking out for a bargain.”

At first, Jeremy was a bit skeptical about shopping for used items, but he quickly came around after seeing the deals that you can find. “I’m definitely game to go thrift store shopping with Jinger. It saves money and now it’s proven that you do find good stuff,” he said.

Jinger isn’t the only grown-up Duggar daughter who’s stuck with her family’s thrifty ways. Her big sister Jessa has shared that she shops consignment events to find affordable clothes and toys for her kids.

“We shop mostly at thrift shops, consignment shops, and sale racks,” Jessa has said.

She also finds bargains at TJMaxx

While Jinger doesn’t have any issue snapping up gently used items to decorate her home or fill her closet, thrift stores aren’t the only place she bargain shops. When she shared a photo of herself posing with her daughter Felicity the other day, many of her Instagram followers wondered where she’d found her cute black and white striped dress.

Jinger didn’t hesitate to share where she found her outfit, which conveniently matched with her daughter’s striped dress.

“I am not exactly sure where I got the dress. I think TJ Maxx I’ve had it for a good while now!” she wrote.

TJMaxx is one of the largest off-price retail chains in the U.S. It’s also the most popular clothing store in Jinger’s home state of Arkansas, according to data from Foursquare, so it’s no surprise that she loves shopping there.

Jinger’s bargain-shopping tips

Jinger has some tips for people who want to embrace her thrifty ways but aren’t sure where to start.

“You have to think outside the box,” she explained in a 2016 episode of Counting On. At thrift and consignment stores, you have to sift through a lot of stuff to find the few items that you want to take home, she and her sister Jessa explained.

“You have to have a lot of patience,” Jessa added
