Joanna Gaines Has a New Coffee Shop, But ‘Fixer Upper’ Fans Want to Know When She’ll Come Back to Television

It’s been more than a year since we last saw Chip and Joana Gaines transform the worst houses in the best neighborhoods into bona fide dream homes. Fans are still mourning the loss of the hit HGTV show Fixer Upper for good reason. There’s nothing on television right now that quite compares.

The Gaineses left Fixer Upper to spend more time focusing on their family, including a newborn (now 1-year-old) surprise baby and four older kids. They also wanted to devote more of their efforts on Magnolia Market at the Silos, their retail emporium that’s become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the state of Texas.

But we learned a while ago that Chip and Joanna Gaines will be returning to TV soon. Not just with a new show — these renovation masters are creating their very own television network, which is slated to arrive sometime in 2020. Fans are absolutely dying to see what it’s all about.

Joanna Gaines has kept busy since the show ended

Though she claims she needed time to unwind, that seems like the last thing Joanna Gaines has been doing since filming the final episode of Fixer Upper. Over the past year, Joanna had a baby, wrote a cookbook, hosted multiple events at Magnolia Market, and is currently in the process of opening a new coffee shop on the Magnolia Market premises. It’s enough to make even the most energetic person exhausted!

There’s a lot of buzz surrounding the new coffee shop, which is unsurprisingly chic and stunning in true Joanna Gaines fashion. However, unless you live in Waco or are planning a pilgrimage there soon, it’s unlikely you’ll ever sample a cold brew from Magnolia Press. And for most Gaines’ fans, that mean they’re ready for the new network already.

Here’s what we know about Chip and Joanna Gaines’ new network

The as-yet-unnamed network (come on, we know it’s going to be Magnolia something) will replace the DIY Network and give a much-needed boost to the enormous popularity of renovation television. While there are plenty of shows on the topic, none have achieved the success that Fixer Upper did. Clearly, Chip and Joanna have the magic touch.

Good news, Fixer Upper fans: while it won’t be the exact same show, Chip and Joanna will have at least one series on the new network, which they’ve described as a more ‘holistic’ approach to their style than Fixer Upper was. Besides their own show, the network will include plenty of other home-inspired content and will have a streaming app with additional content, too.

We might see the Gaines kids and we might not

One of the best parts of watching Fixer Upper — besides the big reveal, of course — was catching snippets of life on the Gaineses farm. Will the kids be involved in their new shows, too?

The answer is maybe. Chip and Joanna said that since their children are getting older, they’re leaving that decision to them. “… We always told our kids, ‘If you want to be part of this, we’ll put a mic on you,’” Joanna said. “If the kids want to do it, we would gladly welcome it, but we’ll leave it up to them.”

We cannot wait to see what the new network is like! 2020 can’t come soon enough.
