Joanna Gaines is Sharing Mini Cooking Demos to Help Her Fans Stay Positive During the Coronavirus Quarantine

Leave it to Joanna Gaines to help make a potentially negative situation a little bit easier to endure.

The former Fixer Upper host is staying connected with fans during the coronavirus pandemic and sharing messages of positivity and hope. But that’s not all. The 41-year-old mother of five is also sharing one of her great passions in life: cooking.

Over the past few days, Gaines has been sharing short snippets of herself preparing simple, comforting meals in her Waco, Texas farmhouse and posting them online. She’s not the only celebrity sharing cooking tips — but because she’s Joanna Gaines, these clips are infused with fun, laughter, and yes, great advice you can really use.

Joanna Gaines is sharing her treasured recipes on Instagram

While some fans might have expected Gaines to record herself tackling renovation projects while she’s homebound, in reality, interior design is only a small part of her talents. The HGTV star and best-selling cookbook author has a knack for meal prep and even plans on hosting her own as-yet-unnamed cooking show once her new Magnolia television network launches in the fall.

So far, Gaines has shared simple recipes for chocolate chip cookies and chili. There’s a good chance she’ll be sharing more in the coming days, so stay tuned to Instagram for more great ideas.

She’s focused on finding the good in a bad situation

It may be a little easier for Joanna Gaines, a self-confirmed homebody, to be spending more time in her house these days. But she is doing her part to help fans feel better about their new situations, too.

“With life looking quite a bit different than we’re all used to, our @magnolia family is looking for ways to focus on how we can make the most of our time spent at home, because honestly there’s no better place to be right now – and in the midst of all that’s going on, we believe that there is room for connection, creativity, laughter, and inspiration,” she shared on Instagram.

She continued: “So here’s what we’re gonna do: for the next few days, we’re going to share a new challenge and/or activity that we can all get in on together and share. To kick it off, Drake has filmed us making the chocolate chip cookie recipe from the first cookbook.” ⠀

Joanna Gaines also cooked up a Valentine’s Day feast with her kids

Some couples use Valentine’s Day as an excuse to get a babysitter and go out to dinner. But in the Gaines household, Joanna incorporates the whole family and whips up a gourmet meal from scratch.

This year, the Fixer Upper alum shared a video of their feast, which included steak, crab, shrimp, fettucine, rolls, layered salad, angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream, plus a French Silk pie from her cookbook.

Just like her current quarantine cooking videos, the demos are infused with personality and fun antics that make fans feel like they’re part of the family.

No one knows how long the effects of the pandemic will last, but at least we have celebrities like Joanna Gaines to keep us well fed for the duration.
