“I’m petitioning to kind of be their secret body guard,” he said. “When I became aware of of the BTS phenomenon, it hit me by storm. I listened to their music. I enjoy their music. J-Hope is my favorite just because he’s got a little bit of street cred like myself.”
In a more recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Cena took part in a segment called “What the Young Folks Say” with Keegan-Michael Key. Cena brought up his love for BTS and J-Hope as a way to define the word “stan.”
Cena said, “Oh, bit of a BTS guy so, in the group BTS I like J-Hope. I like him, but in no way am I stanning J-Hope. Because stanning J-Hope would be like I’d be able to give you every single…,”
“A whole lot of statistics,” Key added.
