John Krasinski Trolled Ryan Reynolds on His Birthday for the Best Reason

If you’re having major separation anxiety from your favorite Dunder Mifflin employees, fear not. Oct. 20 marks The Office star John Krasinski’s 40th birthday. To celebrate, he’s doing something a little extra while trolling his favorite celebrities.

Are John Krasinski and Ryan Reynolds friends?

Krasinski and Reynolds are the bromance of the year — we’re calling it. The two friends are set to star in the comedy, Imaginary Friends. Krasinski is in charge of writing, directing, producing, and starring in the film. Reynolds only stars in it (did we just troll him, too?).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie follows Reynolds’s character who befriends people’s imaginary friends. Some turn angry and bitter after they’re discarded. Reynolds will, of course, try to stop them.

The friends previously teamed up to troll Hugh Jackman after Jackman got a little too close to Krasinski’s wife, Emily Blunt. Reynolds notoriously trolls Jackman whenever he has the chance, so the fact that Krasinski joined in the fun makes it that much better.

The back and forth exchanged is pure comedy and a real testament to the bond the three men have in real life.

Why did John Krasinski troll Ryan Reynolds?

Krasinski posted a video to celebrate his milestone birthday. What do you get someone who has everything? Krasinski says “cash.” To be clear, he’s generously teaming up with the organization, Family Reach.

The mission statement on the website says they are “dedicated to eradicating the financial barriers that accompany a cancer diagnosis, a widespread issue known as Cancer-Related Financial Toxicity (CRFT).”

In true Jim Halpert fashion, Krasinski took to Twitter to ask his celebrity friends to help spread the word and put their money where their mouths are. One standout celebrity is Reynolds. Krasinski asked Reynolds for Jackman’s “cell phone number” so he could “try a little old fashioned blackmail.”

Reynolds and Jackman aren’t the only ones Krasinski is calling out and responding to. One user said they’d donate if Krasinski would provide a selfie. Krasinski obliged.

The Jack Ryan star is also answering questions about donations and sharing patient stories. Again, such a Jim Halpert thing to do.

What was Ryan Reynolds’s response?

Reynolds promptly responded by Tweeting a reply that said: “I hope to be reincarnated as Hugh’s cell phone. Just so I can spend all g*d d*mn day cradled in his buttery-soft hands.”

At the time of this post, Jackman had yet to respond. It’s worth noting Reynolds’s response was just shy of 20 minutes after Krasinski called him out. If that’s not true bromance, we don’t know what is. #bffgoals
