John Legend Pulled an Incredible Husband Move for Wife Chrissy Teigen
Former model and current television personality Chrissy Teigen normally uses Twitter to make humorous observations about her children, chime in on trending topics, or hilariously roast her husband, singer and activist John Legend. This weekend, however, she tweeted a sincere thank you to Legend for doing something that can only be described as pure love in action.
In one fell swoop, John proved empathy and investing in relationships are strengths and not weaknesses. The “All of Me” singer-songwriter reworked his schedule so he could spend some quality time with his wife, who was feeling down.
His commitment to his marriage — and we apologize in advance for this — is quite Legend-ary.
John Legend reaches the heights of husband-ing
Teigen admitted on Twitter on Oct. 27 that showing love for her husband on the internet is not the norm for her.
“I do not normally brag about john, as it is my schtick to make fun of him always,” she wrote. However, Legend’s act of generosity changed the game for Teigen.
“He flew from London to LA instead of London to DC to have dinner with me and watch love island UK because I haven’t been feeling like myself lately,” Teigen explained. Although the former Sports Illustrated model noted it was “just a few hours,” she acknowledged that “it meant a lot.”
“Thank u,” Teigen wrote.
Just when we thought Legend couldn’t be any sweeter, Tiegen followed up with another tweet, informing her followers that her husband “had to fly on his least favorite airline” to be with her. We’re not sure which airline that is, but we are sure, as Teigen put it, “That is love.”
Legend responded to his wife’s tweet, writing to Teigen, “I love you my baby. See you tonight.” Great, and now we’re all puking rainbows.
If these two aren’t your celebrity couple goals, you need to make like Hermionie Granger and sort out your priorities.
With Chrissy Teigen in her feelings, Twitter users offer support
Teigen received a lot of supportive comments from concerned followers, but she only responded to one. One Twitter user asked Teigen, “Are you crying more than usual?” The tweeter went on to explain her own melancholic headspace.
“I find myself tearing up over every sweet thing, every kind word, every story with a happy ending,” the person wrote. “It as though I am feeling the loss of goodness, even though it hasn’t completely ebbed away.”
Teigen responded, “This sums it up so well,” implying that she is feeling the same way. Teigen also offered the follower her empathy: “I’m sorry you feel this way, too. It will get better.” However, the Lip Sync Battle commentator admitted she was struggling with her emotions.
“I have tears in my eyes all day, ready to go,” Teigen wrote.
We’re not sure what has got the successful cookbook author not feeling like herself. It could very well be the fact that she’s been mobbed by Twitter trolls armed with false accusations in the past few weeks.
Actress Patricia Arquette offered some kind words for Teigen on Twitter as well.
“I have been really anxious too and crying and I almost never do,” she wrote. She reminded the mother of two that it’s OK, and “it’s human.”
We just hope Legend’s Love Island and dinner date with his wife Chrissy Teigen cheered her up a bit.
