Why Some Fans Think Jordyn Woods’ ‘Red Table Talk’ Interview Was a Lie
Now that Jordyn Woods has given her side of the Tristan Thompson cheating scandal on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk show, fans are more confused than ever. Some think she has redeemed herself, while others don’t believe Woods is telling the truth. Here’s why some fans think Jordyn Woods lied during her Red Table Talk interview.
Jordyn Woods says she doesn’t know why Tristan Thompson kissed her
Many were skeptical when Woods said she had no idea why Tristan would kiss her. One Twitter user said she found it hard to believe Woods didn’t know why Thompson kissed her when she reportedly spent the entire night and part of the morning at the basketball player’s house. Woods also says she did at one point during the party put her legs on top of Thompson’s legs. Although Woods denies they were flirty, this seems like a flirty move.
Jordyn’s story seemed to change again
One thing fans noticed is that Woods seems to constantly change her story. In the past, Woods reportedly said nothing happened between her and Thompson. In other accounts, she reportedly says the two kissed, but that was it. In still other accounts, Woods reportedly says she was drunk. Then in a different version, Woods reportedly doesn’t mention anything about being drunk. In her interview with Jada Pinkett Smith, Woods says she was drunk but that she was lucid. She says she knew where she was and what she was doing. However, before that comment, Woods said she didn’t know better, and shouldn’t have been at Thompson’s house. So, did she or didn’t she know what she was doing?
Details were left out
This was not the explosive interview you’ve been waiting for. Woods left out a lot of details about her night at Thompson’s house. Sure, Woods signed a non-disclosure agreement, but fans would have liked her to share a little more about what happened between her and Thompson. Woods says she’s willing to take a lie detector test, but she might have said that because she doesn’t think anyone would really ask her to take a test.
We don’t know for sure if Woods lied, and we’re not saying she lied, but we did notice a lack of detail. In her column for Psychology Today, Dr. Susan Krauss Whitbourne says people who lie take great pains to skip over details.
A liar skips many of the little flourishes that embellish stories told by honest people. These are harder to keep straight later, so he or she just leaves them out. Someone telling the truth might mention what music was playing in the background or what color the flowers on the table were. A liar will try to be as incomplete as possible on details, including time, because these are difficult to construct and then keep consistent to in later renditions of the story.
The people of Twitter feel like their time was wasted
Woods didn’t really say anything you haven’t already seen on social media. In the comments section on Twitter and Facebook some noted they were watching Jordyn Woods’ interview during their lunch time. However, not many were pleased at the end of the interview, saying they wasted time they could have spent enjoying their meal or doing something constructive. Viewers were hoping Woods would “spill the tea” and share some juicy details about her alleged encounter with Tristan, but no tea was spilled, and the interview was not juicy at all. This made quite a few people on social media upset.
