Jordyn Woods Says This 1 Thing Helped Her Get Through the Tristan Thompson Cheating Scandal
2019 might have been a great year for many people, but it didn’t start out in the best way for Jordyn Woods.
In February of that year, the model found her life turned upside down after media outlets caught word of her alleged cheating scandal with Khloé Kardashian’s ex/baby daddy, Tristan Thompson.
Not only did many of Woods’ friendships came to an abrupt end after that, she was also faced with some intense backlash online, which she later claimed took a tremendous toll on her mental health.
Now that a year has passed since this dramatic scandal, Woods feels better than ever and credits this one activity for helping her survive that dark time in her life.
Woods faced some harsh criticism following the scandal
The life Woods once knew was gone the second word got out that she had allegedly hooked up with Thompson.
Before the scandal, the model had everything going for her, a billionaire best friend who stood by her side through it all, supportive friends and family, even a booming modeling career that showed no sign of slowing down.
While things were definitely going great for Woods, her whole world soon came crashing down once onlookers caught her getting a little too cozy with Thompson at a house party.
Back in February 2019, reports surfaced that the NBA player had cheated on his then-girlfriend and the mother of his daughter, Khloé Kardashian, with Woods while enjoying a night out.
Though Thompson and Woods initially denied this claim, the model later revealed during a tell-all interview on Red Table Talk that they had shared a kiss.
The scandal ended up driving a wedge between Woods and the Kardashian clan, who once considered her part of their family. It even effectively ended her friendship with longtime BFF, Kylie Jenner, who Woods had been close with since 2012.
In addition to all of that, the dramatic event also caused the model to receive negative attention online.
“People are so detached that they don’t feel empathy,” she said of her online trolls while sitting down with Cosmopolitan back in July 2019.
She continued, “People are so quick to judge, or to cancel, or to unfollow, but they can’t even look in the mirror at themselves and realize what they might have done wrong.”
She turned to fitness to help take her mind off of the drama
Although it’s been a year since the cheating scandal came to light, Woods is still faced with online criticism but tries her best not to let people’s negativity get her down.
“I see a lot of people say, ‘What does she even do? All she does is take pictures for Instagram.’ But five days out of the week, I’m working,” the model recently explained to Forbes. “I don’t post my work on social media. I don’t have to.”
Woods goes on to share that she’s been focused on building her brand rather than her social media presence and even shared her biggest endeavor yet called FRSTPLACE, a 12-week at-home or in-gym workout that helps users achieve their fitness goals.
The idea for this platform came from Woods’ passion for working out, which was something that helped her immensely following the cheating scandal.
“Working out is something that has helped me through everything,” she said. “Through the grieving of my father, the scandals. It has been something that has helped me not only physically, but mentally and spiritually.”
According to the model, working out served as a way to help her deal with unexpected losses and since exercising has put her in a better headspace, she now wants to share her fitness regimes with others.
“I thought, why not create an environment in a space where people can create a community to put their lives, their fitness, and themselves first,” she continued. “That’s why I called it FRSTPLACE, because it’s about making yourself your first priority.”
Woods has definitely overcome a lot this past year, and though some things were harder to deal with than others, she was able to survive the drama and couldn’t be more proud of herself.
