Joy-Anna Duggar Didn’t Post Anything to Social Media About Her Baby Shower

Joy-Anna Duggar has taken over the spotlight more recently. She and Austin Forsyth have a little boy, Gideon — and after their miscarriage last year, they’re ready to have another little one now. The two are expecting and excitedly sharing baby news via YouTube and Instagram.

It looks like Joy-Anna just had her baby shower, too — but oddly enough, she didn’t post about it all to social media. Here’s what we noticed.

After their miscarriage in 2019, Joy-Anna and Austin had a seriously difficult time moving forward, as they lost their baby at 20 weeks. Now, the couple’s more excited than ever to have their rainbow baby. And they’ve been keeping their fans updated with all the baby news via their social media accounts.

“Yes… it’s true! @austin4site and I are PREGNANT again!” Joy-Anna posted on Instagram on March 18. “Ahhh!! It’s been quite the crazy journey these last few months, but we are so thankful that mom and baby are healthy!”

The couple also posted a video on YouTube that talks about the early days of pregnancy. At one point, Joy-Anna was worried the pregnancy wouldn’t be viable and she’d lose the baby once again — but thankfully, that wasn’t the case. Now, the happy mom is approaching her due date in August.

On June 10, Joy-Anna posted another photo showing off 30 weeks of pregnancy. And on July 5, her baby bump made another appearance in a photo.

Joy-Anna and Austin Forsyth chose to leave ‘Counting On’

Joy-Anna and Austin share plenty of details with their fans, but they’re no longer featured on the TLC show Counting On. While Jessa, Jinger, Jana, and a number of Joy-Anna’s other siblings are mainstays on the program, Joy-Anna and Austin chose to take a step back. And that means fans won’t see how their pregnancy plays out on the small screen.

Joy-Anna and Austin haven’t made any official statements regarding their decision to leave the show behind. But it may have something to do with Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard, also ditching TLC. Derick has been spilling family tea left and right, and he’s made some negative claims about Jim Bob Duggar and TLC’s treatment of Jill over the years. Jill and Joy-Anna used to be very close, though we’re not sure where their relationship stands now.

Derick was the one to confirm that Joy-Anna and Austin wouldn’t be returning to Counting On, too. He explained to fans on TLC’s Instagram that this was the case.

She didn’t post about her baby shower at all

Counting On would certainly feature Joy-Anna’s baby shower at some point in the season — but it looks like that won’t be the case. Not only that, but Joy-Anna didn’t even share any photos or videos from the baby shower to her own social media. Instead, it was Jill who posted a few photos to her Instagram Story showing her at Joy-Anna’s event. And Joy-Anna’s close friend, Carlin Bates, also shared a few photos on Instagram on July 12.

“Joy, I’m SO excited to celebrate this occasion with you!” Bates captioned her post. “Crossing all these new roads together and watching your sweet little family continue to grow has been amazing! God is doing great things in and through you guys! I can’t wait for our little girls to meet and become best friends … whether they like it or not.”

“So happy you were able to be here!!!” Joy-Anna commented on the post. “LOVE YOU!!”

We imagine all the Duggars close to Joy-Anna attended the shower as well, yet no one posted about it. There’s a good chance Joy-Anna and Austin will choose to post about it later after creating a YouTube video about the event, but that’s not a guarantee. Maybe the couple’s becoming more private than we ever imagined!
