Will Judge Jeanine Pirro Issue an Apology for Anti-Muslim Comments?

On Saturday evening, March 17, 2019, Judge Jeanine Pirro’s weekly show on Fox News did not air. There was no announcement regarding the change in the lineup, and a repeat episode of Scandalous replaced Pirro’ time slot.

According to The Wrap, a representative from Fox News refused to comment on the scheduling matters. However, without any answers, the reason for the cancellation became rather evident.

The switch in the lineup seems to be related to Judge Jeanine Pirro’s recent comments made against Representative Ilhan Omar, who wears a hijab. Pirro stated:

“Is her adherence to this Islamic doctrine indicative of her adherence to Sharia law, which in itself is antithetical to the United States Constitution?”

American Thinker

Fox News, overflowing with controversial reporting, tends to stand by its newscasters when such situations arise; however, this time, Fox News issued a statement in opposition to Pirro’s comments. According to American Thinker, Fox News responded to Pirro with the following statement:

“We strongly condemn Jeanine Pirro’s comments about Rep. Ilhan Omar. They do not reflect those of the network and we have addressed the matter with her directly.”

With Judge Jeanine Pirro currently in the hot seat, many are wondering whether she will issue an apology for her remarks, and how Fox will handle her show moving forward.

Will ‘Justice with Judge Jeanine’ return to television?

Though Fox News has yet to confirm or deny the rumors that Judge Jeanine will be permanently removed from the air, NerdWallet, Letgo, and drug makers Allergan and NovoNordisk have already suspended their sponsorship of the program due to Jeanine Pirro’s remarks, according to American Thinker.

However, If President Donald Trump gets his way, Judge Jeanine Pirro will be back on the air in no time. President Donald Trump, as he so often does, took to Twitter to announce his opinion regarding the matter. Trump tweeted (in two separate tweets):

“Bring back @JudgeJeanine Pirro. The Radical Left Democrats, working closely with their beloved partner, the Fake News Media, is using every trick in the book to SILENCE a majority of our Country. They have all out campaigns against @FoxNews hosts who are doing too well. Fox must stay strong and fight back with vigor. Stop working soooo hard on being politically correct, which will only bring you down, and continue to fight for our Country. The losers all want what you have, don’t give it to them. Be strong & prosper, be weak & die! Stay true…”

Judge Jeanine Pirro will likely issue an apology

Though Judge Jeanine Pirro may not be sorry for her comments made against Ilhan Omar, she should issue an apology (at least for the sake of her career). While her comments are deplorable, and she should feel regretful for spewing such hateful rhetoric, she works for Fox News, and she is accustomed to getting away with controversial reporting. This time around, she was not so fortunate.

Judge Jeanine Pirro, in this political and social climate, will likely issue an apology to safeguard her professional future; however, she should go out of her way to ensure that her words reach Ilham Omar personally.
