Justin Bieber’s latest Instagram post has fans concerned

While the singer has been posting images of his wife Hailey Baldwin lately, Bieber hopped on Instagram to honestly explain something he’s going through with his mental health, while sharing that he’s “not worried.”

Bieber explained: “Just wanted to keep you guys updated a little bit hopefully what I’m going through will resonate with you guys. Been struggling a lot. Just feeling super disconnected and weird.. I always bounce back so I’m not worried just wanted to reach out and ask for your guys to pray for me. God is faithful and ur prayers really work thanks .. the most human season I’ve ever been in facing my stuff head on.”

Bieber received treatment for depression last month

According to reports, last month Bieber sought treatment for depression, with a source telling PEOPLE at the time: “Justin seems down and tired. He has been struggling a bit. It has nothing to do with Hailey — he is very happy being married to her. It’s just something else that he struggles with mentally.”

The source added: “He has good help around him and is receiving some treatment. He seems confident he will feel better soon.”

Why did Bieber seek treatment?

Another source close to the singer also shared with PEOPLE at the time that Bieber is “emotional and struggles a lot with the idea of fame — being followed, having his every move stalked by fans, cameras in his face. It all sets him off and he often feels like everyone is out to get him.”

The singer opened up about his mental health

In a March interview for Vogue, Bieber didn’t hold back about how becoming famous at such a young age was not always easy.

In the candid interview, he explained: “I started really feeling myself too much. ‘People love me, I’m the s—,’ that’s honestly what I thought. I got very arrogant and cocky. I was wearing sunglasses inside. I found myself doing things that I was so ashamed of, being super-promiscuous and stuff, and I think I used Xanax because I was so ashamed.”

Bieber also touched on what led to the cancelation of his Purpose world tour in 2017, as he noted: “I got really depressed on tour, I haven’t talked about this, and I’m still processing so much stuff that I haven’t talked about. I was lonely. I needed some time.”

Before he called off the tour, he had also canceled the meet and greets with fans because, he explained: “I end up so drained and unhappy… to the point of depression.” He later explained that he wasn’t taking photos with fans anymore because of the way he was treated, sharing at the time: “it has gotten to the point that people don’t even say hi to me or recognize me as a human.”

Bieber’s fans are answering the call

The singer is getting plenty of prayers and messages of support in response to his very raw and real post on Instagram.

Patrick Schwarzenegger wrote “LOVE YOU!,” Diplo remarked “sending good energy,” and Hailey’s dad, Stephen Baldwin, commented “Jesus [fire emoji].”
