Has Justin Bieber Married Hailey Baldwin Already? Some Fans Think So

Rumor has it that they’re currently working on their prenups — or are they? Confusingly enough, some reports indicate that the duo is still planning their wedding. And other sources say that they’ve already tied the knot. Has Justin Bieber married Hailey Baldwin already? Ahead, discover everything we know about the confusing timeline so far.

The first reports indicated they had gotten a marriage license

The Cut reports that the rumors began on September 13. On that day, TMZ reported that the couple had appeared at the Marriage Bureau in a New York City courthouse. They supposedly went to the courthouse to obtain a marriage license. But people also speculated that the couple met with a judge. And that sparked rumors that they’d actually gotten married. Some reports even said that they might soon leave the country. According to a source at the courthouse, Bieber told Baldwin, “I can’t wait to marry you, baby.”

Then, a ‘religious source’ said they tied the knot

Just a day after TMZ reported that Bieber and Baldwin had obtained a marriage license, the story progressed. The Cut reports that at that point, a “religious source” told People that Justin Bieber married Hailey Baldwin in secret. “They went ahead and did it without listening to anyone,” the source said. The person also reported that the couple still plans to have a “big blowout, in front of God and everyone they love.”

According to Cosmopolitan’s timeline of events, E! had another source who “mirrored those comments.” That source said, “They didn’t tell anyone they were doing it,” the source said. “They are doing a separate ceremony out of the country with a few family members soon as well.”

Hailey Baldwin denied being married

Next, Hailey Baldwin sent out a tweet that just stoked the fire. She tweeted, “I understand where the speculation is coming from, but I’m not married yet!” But she soon deleted the tweet. That looked suspicious. And The Cut reports that People stood by its original story. People reported that Justin Bieber married Hailey Baldwin, but she didn’t consider herself a married woman because they hadn’t yet had a big ceremony.

A friend of the couple said Baldwin “feels a civil ceremony and their ‘real’ wedding are two separate things.” A religious source — either the same one or a new one — told People that while “what happened at the courthouse is a courthouse thing — a legal thing,” true marriage is “two people making a vow before God and the people they love.”

Other people say they’re definitely married

Confusingly enough, other people seemed to confirm that Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin tied the knot. On the Emmy Awards red carpet, Alec Baldwin said of his niece, “They went off and got married, and I don’t know what the deal is!”

Bieber’s mom also added fuel to the fire. She had first tweeted that “Love is unconditional.” A few days later, she tweeted, “Haters gonna hate.” That tweet seemed to refer to the critics who characterize Bieber and Baldwin as too young to marry. Then, as Cosmopolitan reports, Us Weekly moved forward with the story that the two had officially tied the knot.

But reports conflict about their prenup

The confusion continues as conflicting reports about Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin’s prenup surface. The Cut reports that Us Weekly — which treats the rumored wedding as fact — says that the couple didn’t sign a prenuptial agreement. (Scandalous! Bieber has a net worth of $265 million. And Baldwin has a net worth of $2 million.)

But TMZ — which stands by its report that the couple got a marriage license but hasn’t tied the knot — said that Bieber and Baldwin have individually “lawyered up” to negotiate a prenup. As The Cut explains, “While the two are both devout Christians, they’re apparently grounded in reality enough to acknowledge that the ’till death do us part’ vow isn’t the most realistic.”
