Justin Timberlake Will Have to Give Jessica Biel $500,000 If He Ever Cheats on Her Thanks to a Crazy Prenup
It’s very unclear if Justin Timberlake really did or didn’t cheat on his wife of seven years, Jessica Biel. Fans went into an absolute frenzy recently when the singer and songwriter got caught getting cozy with his Palmer co-star Alisha Wainwright during a social outing.
Rather than try to deny or explain away the incident, Timberlake immediately ‘fessed up to his fanbase and publicly apologized to Biel. But it turns out the “SexyBack” singer has more at stake than just his reputation. If he gets caught cheating, Timberlake will be legally required to shell out a huge sum of cash.
Did Justin Timberlake really cheat on Jessica Biel?
No one knows for sure exactly what happened between Timberlake and Wainwright that night. Onlookers spotted Timberlake holding hands with Wainwright and her touching his knee while they were out at a bar in New Orleans, where the movie Palmer is being filmed.
Timberlake addressed the rumors on his Instagram account. “A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse in judgment — but let me be clear — nothing happened between me and my costar. I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior. I should have known better,” he shared via social media.
Timberlake and Biel have a very unique prenup
Like plenty of other millionaire celebrities, Timberlake and Biel had a practical plan in place before they tied the knot. The couple had been dating since 2007 but briefly split in 2011, so both decided to use caution when tying the knot. Only instead of a traditional prenuptial agreement, these two lovebirds opted for a trendy “love contract.”
As Nicki Swift reported, these contracts address certain lifestyle issues in the marriage, including infidelity, drug use, excessive spending, and gaining weight. Biel and Timberlake worked these extra items into their prenup.
Timberlake has to pay half a million dollars if he cheats on his wife
One love contract item that could apply to Timberlake has to do with an “infidelity clause.” The New York Daily News reported that there’s a clause in their prenup that states Timberlake will need to shell out a cool $500,000 if he ever cheats on Biel.
With an estimated net worth of $230 million, even that huge amount wouldn’t make a significant impact on Timberlake’s bottom line. Still, you’d think he’d want to avoid paying that much for such an avoidable offense.
Biel and Timberlake are sticking together for now
For now, it doesn’t seem that Timberlake and Biel will need to worry much about dividing assets in a split. The pair is presenting a united front in the wake of the scandal and seem to be intent on moving past it.
“Obviously Justin drank too much this time, but Jessica believes he didn’t cheat on her,” a source explained to People. “What’s most important to her in life is her family and being the best mom to Silas.”
“Their marriage will survive. He feels guilty and will make it up to her,” another source added. “She is very good to him and he knows how lucky he is. He says it was not a big deal, they were all hanging out together and that’s the end of the story.”
