Kanye West Absurdly Claims He’s Running for Office and Here’s Why Fans Aren’t Convinced

Recently Kanye West began ranting and raving about something other than the Bible: his upcoming bid for President in the 2024 election. While Yeezy fans of the rapper are probably jumping for joy at this news, others aren’t taking the bait. Some even laughed at the big announcement!

Those who heard the news firsthand couldn’t help but think West was kidding. But as it turns out, he’s beyond serious about sitting in the big chair at the White House. So much so that people not to taking his words to heart rubbed him the wrong way.

But what exactly is making people roll their eyes at West’s newest venture? After all, it’s not like he is the first celebrity to pop up on the political radar.

Is Kanye West really running for president in 2024?

West is certainly speaking as if he is serious. During the Fast Company Innovation Festival, West touched on many topics. He filled fans in on some pretty big his plans he has lined up for his billion-dollar fashion company, Yeezy. West intends to bring manufacturing back over stateside.

He said: “When I run for president in 2024, we would have created so many jobs I’m not going to run, I’m going to walk.”

Why is this such a big deal? It would enable him the opportunity to help boost the economy and lower the unemployment rate. Anyone who watches political news knows that the promise of jobs is one thing every politician touches on. Perhaps this subtle flex is West’s way of showing he has what it takes to run the country.

Considering how past presidential running mates have tackled the unemployment rate in their debates, West showing it’s something he can do without even being president is definitely his way of impressing potential voters.

This isn’t the first time Kanye West has talked about running from office

This isn’t the first time West has talked about dipping his toed into politics. He has been hinting at snatching up his place in the White House since 2015.

In 2018, he mentioned that he isn’t affiliated with either the Republicans or the Democrats. That’s pretty strange when you consider his clear association with President Donald Trump.

Oh, and don’t forget that he actually did announce plans that he would take part in the presidential election back in 2020. While his plans never came to fruition, it looks like they never quite left his head either.

Why fans aren’t taking Kanye West seriously

West has a history of making outlandish statements and consistently lands himself in hot water. So, when he went on one of his mini tirades, appearing at high-profile WSJ Magazine and Fast Company events all while throwing a party, launching a strange shoe made of algae, and announcing his plans to run for president in 2024, no one batted an eye. It’s important to note that this slew of occurrences all dropped within a matter of hours.

West spent the totality of his talk session with writer Mark Wilson and the mastermind behind the Yeezy’s Steven Smith, spouting a great deal of what some might consider nonsense. During the talk, he encouraged black voters to stray away from voting Democrat.

West was so spastic with his rhetoric that Wilson tried to get him back on track. After all, they were supposed to be discussing the Yeezy’s! Oh, and let’s not forget that the I Love It rapper has a history of erratic behavior and mental health issues. They run so deep he was even hospitalized for the condition back in 2016. So, much to his dismay, people are taking his words with a huge heaping pile of salt.

In the event, he does make it into office, America will definitely have a wild ride ahead.
